Hi there!! Happy July 1! The first of the month means that it's time for Papertrey's Senior Design Team Challenge and this month, we're revisiting one of my favorites -- Postmarks! There's just something so charming about postage -- all those colors and images and sizes and shapes and let's not forget that postage is PAPER which we all love, right? Haha!
So Nichole challenged us to find an inspiration photo and create a project inspired by that photo. Here's the photo that I just love and couldn't wait to create a card inspired by!
I love all the pinks and reds. I love the pops of black postmarks here and there. I love all the different images and I love the sort of grid pattern. It was those things that I kept in mind when I created my card.
I started out by die cutting 9 stamps with the postage die and then stamped them with various images from Postmarks, using pure poppy, raspberry fizz, berry sorbet and scarlet jewel inks. Then I went back in and added postmarks over the top of the stamps with smokey shadow ink.
I love the wings image in Postmarks, so I stamped it at the top and bottom of the rustic cream panel and inked the edges with vintage touch tea die ink. I lined the stamps up in my own little grid pattern.
Along the bottom, I added a sentiment strip, with the "Just a Note" sentiment from Postmarks.
I hope today's project has inspired you to get out your own Postmarks stamp set and make something pretty today! Be sure to visit the other girls on the Senior Team, for their Postmarks projects too!
