So I told you before about my friend Steph and our first official craft night. I showed you the card and tag I made, and her versions as well. She came over again this week for another craft night, and it got me to thinking that this could be a really fun new series here on the blog-o....Craft Night Creations! Whenever Steph comes for Craft Night, I'll give you a little peek into our evening, showing you what I created, as well as what she whipped up! Steph is a brand new paper crafter -- she learned to stamp on our first Craft Night -- so she'll be learning this hobby from the ground up. :)
This time around, she learned to heat emboss! I totally remember to this day, the first time I saw heat embossing. I was amazed!! Watching that embossing powder melt and then harden into something completely beautiful and shiny was fascinating and I was hooked! So I was really excited to watch Steph's face as she learned this new technique!
She didn't disappoint either.....she was holding the baby (Baby Hudson comes to craft night too, so while she stamps, I get to hold the baby! Win, win! Haha!) Anwyay she was holding Hudson and her eyes lit up light a Christmas tree, just like I remember mine doing the first time I saw embossing. So fun!
So we started out with die cut flowers and leaves using the Mum's the Word dies (I used raspberry fizz, berry sorbet & new leaf) and then we heat embossed them all using the Mum's the Word stamps and clear embossing powder. The sentiment from Basket of Blessings was stamped on an aqua mist card stock strip. And while we were heat embossing, I thought we'd do a bit of debossing as well, by busting out the woodgrain impression plate to impress a woodgrain pattern onto the rustic cream card front.
And here is Steph's version -- she went with melon berry and berry sorbet for her flowers and hawaiian shores for her sentiment.
That's it for this installment of Craft Night Creations but we made a second project when she was here, so I'll be back soon with another project to share! See ya next time!
