All righty, time for the next Stamp-a-Faire challenge at Papertrey Ink! Next up is a Limited Ingredients challenge!
You would think that working with limited ingredients would be really confining, however in some cases, it's actually quite freeing because a lot of the decisions have already been made for you! Limiting yourself to a few specific colors, a certain stamp set or two and minimal tools can help you to create a darling card and sometimes even in record time! I'm thrilled with the card I was able to make for this fun challenge -- I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Here's the list of "ingredients" you're allowed to use on your card for this challenge:
-white card stock
-white or transparent glitter (Prisma Glitter)
-1-3/4" circle punch or die
-1" strip of light gray card stock (Soft Stone)
-melon card stock & ink (Melon Berry)
-aqua card stock & ink (Aqua Mist)
-golden yellow card stock & ink (Harvest Gold)
You don't HAVE to use all of these supplies, but you cannot use anything that is not included on this list (except for a neutral ink, like white, gray black).
And here's what I came up with....
I chose to skip using the yellow at all. Instead, I focused on the other three colors and love how it turned out! I also opted to not use the glitter.
I used the strip of soft stone card stock along with a thin strip of melon berry card stock as a place to anchor my focal point. I stamped one of the tags from my Tagged Sentiments stamp set and punched it out with a 1 3/4" circle punch. I love that these tags can serve as the sentiment and focal point all rolled into one!
Now before you call foul and accuse me of using dies that are clearly not on the supply list to cut out those leaves, let me just state for the record, that I fussy cut those babies with paper snips! Haha! No dies were used in the making of this card! lol! The leaves are from the Meadow Greens stamp set.
On the aqua mist card front, I stamped Background Basics: Medallions using aqua mist ink on the larger circles layer and fresh snow ink on the smaller circles layer! I LOVE how soft and sweet this background looks in real life! I wish you were here in the studio with me -- I'd show you! Haha.
Hope you've enjoyed this little card. I really loved this challenge -- hope you do too! Head over to Nichole Heady's blog to play along and be entered to win another fabulous prize!
Smooches!
