Time for another Papertrey Ink SAF Challenge!
Did you know that you can create your own custom glittered snowflake embellishments using shrink film?! It's true! I used my Damask Snowflakes dies to create these adorable little glittered snowflakes and all it took was 3 minutes in the oven! Keep reading to see my process and you can be whipping up your own little glittery plastic snowflakes in no time!
So I started out with a sheet of shrink plastic in white and one in clear and I die cut two snowflakes each, using my Damask Snowflakes dies. You can see the difference above -- the white snowflakes are on the top and the clear are on the bottom.
I followed the directions on the package and baked them in the oven (3 minutes at 300* in my oven) and this is what they looked like when they were done! Tiny little snowflakes! Be sure to follow the directions on the package -- there was a bit of trial and error for me. I found that if I tried to bake 4 snowflakes at once, they flopped every time, but if I just did them two at a time, they came out perfect.
So next, I wanted to add some glitter. I squeezed on some glossy accents and then used my finger to spread it around for an even coat on the snowflakes and then sprinkled on some glitter. Cute, right?
But I think they're even cuter when you stack them up!! I used some more glossy accents to adhere the two snowflakes together, and voila! Custom glittery snowflake embellishments!
My personal favorite is the white version....it looks super 'snowflake-y' in real life! Haha!
I hope you've enjoyed this project! Be sure to head over to Nichole Heady's blog so you can see the other team members' projects and so you can play along with this challenge too!! There's another great prize on the line!! Have fun! I can't wait to see what you create!
