Hello there! It's Day 3 of the Papertrey September Countdown and I'm thrilled to hear that so many of you are excited about these new Raspberry Suite releases this month!! I've got several more projects to share with you today, highlighting these new stamps, dies and impression plate, so let's get right to it!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.
On this first card, I busted out my Christmas Poinsettia dies to create this sparkly flower. I think if ever there was an appropriate time to use copious amounts of glitter, it's at Christmas time! Haha! So I die cut the flower from pure poppy bitty dot paper and then used a two way glue pen to add Martha Stewart smokey quartz glitter to the petals. A pure poppy button threaded with some (new!) cream twine was added to the center and each of the flower layers was adhered with foam adhesive to give the flower some dimension. The leaves were die cut from kraft card stock and the same glitter was added to each.
I "stretched" the Boutique Borders: Christmas frame, by stamping half of it up toward the top of the rustic cream panel, and then stamping the other half of it, down a bit lower on the card stock. This way, I could make the frame long enough to house the large flower in the center.
Below the frame, I stamped one of the sentiments from Boutique Borders: Christmas using dark chocolate ink and added a thin strip of kraft card stock. And of course, we have to talk about that great texture on the pure poppy card front!! I used the Stitching Impression Plate, to add that texture. Can you tell yet that I'm in love with that pattern?! :)
One thing to note about the Stitching impression plate vs. the Background Basics: Stitching stamp set....the two main patterns from the stamp set are the same two that are used on the impression plate, however they are scaled quite a bit larger on the impression plate. You can see an example of this by looking at the little "stitched" squares above, on the pure poppy card stock. And then look below, at the "stitched" squares stamped in pure poppy on the right side of the card. The stamped version is much smaller.
I started out by stamping one strip of the Background Basics: Stitching pattern over on the right. Then I layered on a strip of pure poppy card stock and a piece of pure poppy damask pattern paper from the pattern pack.
The pure poppy tag was die cut with the Tag Sale #5 die and on top of that, I added a Boutique Borders: Christmas die cut tag, that was stamped with the frame and one of the sentiments from the same stamp set. I also stamped the tiny holly leaves from Boutique Borders: Christmas, cut them out and adhered them to the tag with a button on top.
One more for you today.....this one pairs Background Basics: Stitching with a couple of previously released sets!
I started out by stamping the stitched chevron pattern on a stamper's select white card base with soft stone ink. I wanted a bit of a background pattern but wanted to keep it subtle so the flowers would really pop! This chevron achieved that beautifully!
I used The Sweet Life stamps and dies to create the flowers. I tried out a new color combo that I haven't used before and I LOVE the effect!! The first layer on the flowers was stamped with raspberry fizz ink, followed by pure poppy on the second layer and winter wisteria on the top layer. The sentiment is from Boutique Borders: Birthday, and it was stamped with smokey shadow ink on a strip of winter wisteria card stock.
I so hope you've enjoyed today's projects!! I'd love to hear from you, if something particularly caught your eye!
For today, you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady & Danielle Flanders for lots more sneak peeks. Heather Nichols, Maile Belles, Erin Lincoln, Melissa Bickford, Lexi Daly and Tiffany Pastor will have peeks at their new sets as well.
