Hi there and welcome back for Day 2 of the Papertrey September Countdown! I'm excited to get right to today's projects so let's get to it!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.
For this first card, I used the new Stitching Impression Plate on the kraft card front, to create that very textured background!
For the focal point, I die cut and stamped the frame from Boutique Borders: Christmas and then for the sentiment, stamped a couple of words from Maile Belles' new Grand Ampersand stamp set (see Nichole's blog for more info today!). I also used the coordinating Grand Ampersand die, to cut out that gorgeous ampersand and then stamped it with versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. To accent the sentiment/focal point, I added some die cut holly berries and leaves (Mistletoe & Holly dies).
This next card is super simple in case you need to mass produce and want something quick and easy! I stamped one of the Background Basics: Stitching patterns on rustic cream card stock using pure poppy and berry sorbet inks. As you can see, this particular pattern is chevron stitching, so it's super easy to alternate colors. Along the top of the panel, I added a strip of berry sorbet card stock as well as some black baker's twine.
The Boutique Borders: Christmas die was used on some berry sorbet card stock and I stamped the frame in pure poppy ink, followed by a sentiment (also from Boutique Borders: Christmas) using smokey shadow ink.
I'm excited to also get to help introduce you to the Global Greetings: Christmas Wishes stamp set that Lizzie Jones has designed! Each of the sentiments in Global Greetings: Christmas Wishes, translates to "Merry Christmas". There are five languages represented in the set, two font combinations for each language, so a total of 10 sentiments.
I chose to stamp each of the sentiments (some, multiple times) to create a typography focal point using pure poppy, hawaiian shores, and new leaf inks.
Under the sentiments, I added a strip of hawaiian shores ink, on which I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from Stylish Sentiments: Christmas, to reiterate in English what each of the other stamps was saying. Above the sentiment is a strip of pure poppy card stock and below is some striped paper from the pure poppy pattern pack, that was die cut with the small scalloped border die.
As for the background, I stamped one of the images from Background Basics: Stitching, using versamark ink on the new leaf card base!
One more for you today.....this one just reminds me of a snuggly, cozy Christmas sweater!
I paired a few stamp sets here, starting with Heather Nichols' new Wonderful Words: Joy stamp set, stamping the "Joy" in pure poppy ink and the "to the world" in smokey shadow. Next, I added the two "Joyeux Noel" sentiments from Global Greetings" Christmas Wishes followed by the "Merry Christmas" again from Stylish Sentiments: Christmas.
Under the sentiments, I added a piece of pure poppy bitty dot paper, a strip of pure poppy card stock and a wide strip of Candy Cane Prints patterned paper. Some cream twine is tied around the whole panel. And lastly, on the card front, I used the new Stitching Impression Plate, to get that great stitched texture!! I love how that looks on cream card stock!
All righty, that's it for me today. But be sure to visit Nichole Heady for lots more sneak peeks. Heather Nichols, Maile Belles, Erin Lincoln, Melissa Bickford, Lexi Daly and Tiffany Pastor will have peeks at their new sets as well.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects!
I'll see you back here again tomorrow! Thanks for stopping by!
