Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, we're talking Christmas photo cards! So many people send them these days, so how about some ideas on how to keep them quick and easy, while still adding a few special hand-made touches?
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.
Nichole Heady has designed a set of dies called the Instant Photo Pull Out dies, that allow you to create a little card sleeve, as well as a pull-out portion that goes inside. It's perfectly sized to house a 2 1/2" square instagram photo so of course, I busted out one of Windsor, to use on this Christmas card! :)
The photo above shows you what the pocket looks like when you slide the insert out. You may also note that there is a stamped envelope in the back.....those are new also, and are perfectly sized to hold these new photo pocket cards!
The pocket itself was created with pure poppy bitty dot paper and I simply added one of the new Fancy Flakes die cut snowflakes to the front.
Before adhering the photo, I stamped several sentiment elements from a new stamp set Nichole has designed called Instant Photo: Holidays! This set is full of mix and match sentiment options, all of which allow you to stamp the various parts of the sentiments in different colors! This allows you to add some quick stamping with various colors for interest, but still keeps the overall Christmas card production work-load to a minimum! Can I get an AMEN?!! Haha!
And in case one layer photo cards are more your thing, check out this new die (set) Nichole has also designed, called One Liners dies! See that "Peace" and the strip of red underneath it? That's all one piece and they're perfect sized to go on a 4x6 or 5x7 photo card! (this one's a 4x6) Of course you can have your cards printed and then add the die cut strip, or you can do as I did here and print the photo yourself (on photo paper) and then add the die cut strip. (That's my nephew Benjamin just after he was born last year.....isn't he adorable?!) Ahhh. That little yawn. Peace.....
And here is the back side of the card.....I literally just flipped it over, stamped a few more sentiment/image components from Instant Photo: Holiday on the back, added a hand-written signature and that's it! Now obviously we won't be mailing out cards for Christmas with baby Benjamin on the front, but his mama sure could! And any of you with adorable babies (or bigs!) of your own could do something similar!
Ok, so how about a few more cards for you before I go? First up, is this krafty little number. Get it? Kraft-y?? Haha.
I pulled out Peaceful Pinecones for this one and die cut and stamped a pine branch to layer on a Boutique Borders: Christmas die cut frame. Behind that is a Doily Details die cut and behind that are some patterned paper strips from the Candy Cane Prints collection and the Pure Poppy pattern pack.
I stamped a sentiment from Happiest of Holidays on the card front (remember the coordinating tiny pine branch? Happy sigh.) using smokey shadow ink and then ran the card front through the Vagabond with the new Stitching Impression Plate.
Next up, I have a little window card to show you!
Here's what it looks like when it's closed (above). I started by stamping the Background Basics: Stitching chevron pattern on the aqua mist card front using versamark ink. Next, I die cut the window using the Boutique Borders: Christmas die. And to the right of the window, I adhered some holly leaves (Layered Postmarks: Holiday die) and a pure poppy button.
Inside the card, I adhered a piece of white card stock and then stamped the frame and a sentiment from Boutique Borders: Christmas. I added the white card stock because I knew I wanted to stamp the frame and sentiment in red, and the red looks much better -- more true red -- than if I'd stamped it on the aqua card stock.
And one more for you today.....this one just makes me smile.
I used the chevron pattern again from Background Basics: Stitching and stamped a rainbow of strips starting at the top with: raspberry fizz, pure poppy, orange zest, summer sunrise, new leaf, ripe avocado and lastly hawaiian shores.
On the limitless layers tag, I used some simple masking to stamp one of the sentiments from We Go Togther with three different colors, to mirror what was happening on the chevron panel. I love how cheery this card is!
All righty, be sure to hop around and visit each of the other girls on the Design Team to see their Holiday Photo Cards!! You won't want to miss them!
