Hi there!
Welcome back for the first of this month's Papertrey Group Posts!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.
Today, we're showcasing a gorgeous new set and dies by Nichole Heady, called Two Feet Deep. It features vintage style snow sports equipment -- a sled, snowshoes and skis. They're so detailed and lovely, I couldn't resist using all of them on my card!
As you can see by the different colored images, these are two-step stamps, allowing you to stamp the various parts of the equipment in different colors. And of course, the coordinating dies make this set a dream to work with!
The sentiment components I stamped here, are also two separate stamps, allowing once again, for the use of multiple colors.
Notice on the snowshoe and on the sled, there are additional pieces (the "shoe" portion and the pine sprigs) that were die cut and stamped and then added on top with foam adhesive.
And to get the look I achieved on the skis, I stamped the ski portion off once first, before stamping on the die cut. This allowed me to use dark chocolate ink on both the ski portion on the 'shoe' portion of the ski. (I have no idea what you call that part of a ski....we don't do a whole lot of skiing here in Kansas! LOL!) They sure are pretty to look at though, aren't they? :)
To coordinate with the card, I also whipped up a gift tag and paired it with the new Double Bow dies that were used to create the bow on this gift box. The bow was created with pure poppy bitty dot paper and was adhered on top of pure poppy grosgrain ribbon that was wrapped around a simple kraft paper mache box. I love these boxes for gift-giving because they're a perfect kraft color. I don't generally bother with wrapping them in paper.....I just decorate them up however I'd like. It's basically the same approach I take with using kraft gift bags all the time. Love 'em!
So on the tag, I added more sentiments from Two Feet Deep as well as another darling sled and tucked just behind the sled is one of the new Fancy Flakes die cuts.
And speaking of Fancy Flakes.....how about a couple more cards for you today, featuring Boutique Borders: Christmas and Background Basics: Stitching, hmm? On this first card, I couldn't resist pairing one of my Damask Snowflakes dies with the new Fancy Flakes dies!
I started out with a kraft card base and ran it through the Vagabond with the Stitching Impression Plate. Next, I adhered several Fancy Flakes die cuts to the card front and spritzed the whole thing with some Mr. Huey's calico shine spray mist. It's very shimmery in real life!
And of course, the Damask Snowflakes die cut was the perfect place to house my sentiment from Boutique Borders: Christmas. I stamped the sentiment and then covered it up temporarily with a punched out circle, so that I could mist that snowflake just like I'd done with the others. That way, the sentiment stayed nice and crisp while everything else was frosty.
One more for you before I go. On this one, I stamped a couple of flourishes from Fancy Flourishes using kraft ink on the rustic cream card base. I also inked the edges of each layer with vintage touch tea dye ink.
I added a strip of kraft card stock on which I stamped one of the patterns from Background Basics: Stitching using kraft ink.
On the tag sale #6 die cut, I stamped the Boutique Borders: Christmas frame using smokey shadow ink, and on the rustic cream circle, I stamped all three sentiments from Boutique Borders: Christmas, as well as the holly images, to create a very typography heavy focal point!
Just behind the circle is a pinked edge circle that was die cut with a Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" circle die and then I added Martha Stewart white gold glitter, all around the pinked edge!
Just above the focal point, I also added a couple of stars (one that was covered with glitter after running it through my Xyron to coat it in adhesive). These stars are part of the negative die cut from the Fancy Flakes dies!
All right, that's all I've got for you today, but of course it's Group Post day -- hooray! -- so the entire team has projects to share with you so be sure to check 'em out!
