If you're anything like me, then perhaps you've already started whipping up handmade Christmas gifts or maybe you'll be starting soon. (Christmas is in less than 9 weeks!) I've been knitting scarves in the evenings in an effort to get a jump on my Holiday crafting and while I'm at it, I've pulled out the Handle With Care stamp set to create some custom "care instructions" gift tags for my scarves! This way, the recipient will know how to properly wash and care for their gift and I get the joy out of making a darling little gift tag to coordinate with each scarf! I've put the new Tag Sale #8 die to use along with the Handle With Care and Knit Bits stamp sets to create these little tags!
I love the new Tag Sale #8 die and the additional die that comes with it makes for the perfect place to stamp some care instructions with the Handle With Care stamp set. Just above the care instructions, I stamped several yarn balls from the Knit Bits stamp set, using plum pudding ink. To get the different colors, I simply stamped each ball twice before reinking the stamp.
I inked the top half of the knitting needle with smokey shadow ink and stamped it twice on one of the yarn balls and then stamped the "made with love" at the top using winter wisteria ink. I popped the panel up on the tag with foam adhesive and as for the tag itself, I die cut two of them -- one from rustic cream card stock and one from plum pudding patterned paper -- and adhered them together. That way I get the pop of color from the patterned paper but the card stock gives it some stability.
Of course, my tags were created for a knitted project, but the Handle With Care stamp set full of washing instructions can work for all sorts of handmade projects.... everything from clothes to quilts to baby items!
Have you already started making some gifts for Christmas? What are you creating this year? I've been making Gap-tastic cowls (free pattern found on revelry.com) and having so much fun! You can see pictures of all that I've made so far, on my Instagram or Twitter feeds.
Hope you're having a great day!
Happy crafting!
