Hello there! Welcome back to Day 2 of the Papertrey November Countdown! Today, I've got more peeks for you at Boutique Borders: Congrats plus I also get to help introduce you to a new $5 mini set designed by Nichole Heady called Congratulations, which features several font styles of the word "Congratulations" as well as a few decorative brackets.
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on November 15 at 10pm EST.
I used both Boutique Borders: Congrats and Congratulations on this card, and I thought I'd show you how I die cut the top and bottom portions of this focal point.
I laid the Boutique Borders: Congrats die on the rustic cream card stock and secured it with a post-it note before running it through my vagabond. However, I only ran it through just enough to cut out the top section of the die, and then I backed it out of the machine, turned the card stock around and moved the die to the other end of the card stock and did it all again. Then, with a paper trimmer, I simply trimmed off the side bits of card stock to allow the die cut portion to extend up from the rest of the card stock. You can see what I mean in the photo below.
I stamped the frame from Boutique Borders: Congrats using aqua mist ink followed by 3 sentiments from the new Congratulations stamp set, in hawaiian shores, limeade ice and simply chartreuse inks.
Next, I used the new Wonderful Words: Congrats die to cut out some hawaiian shores bitty dot paper and adhered it to the cream panel. I then stamped another of the sentiments from Congratulations in new leaf ink, followed by the "Congrats" sentiment from Boutique Borders: Congrats.
New leaf bitty dot paper was used for the background and along the bottom of the card is a strip of ripe avocado card stock that was die cut with the heart border die.
Next up is a fun floral card for you!
The Delightful Dahlia Additions stamp set was used to stamp the flowers and leaves. The flowers were stamped on aqua mist card stock with hawaiian shores, new leaf and ripe avocado inks. The leaves were stamped with new leaf ink on the first two layers and ripe avocado ink on the top layer.
The sentiment is one from the new Congratulations stamp set and was stamped with new leaf ink on rustic cream card stock which was trimmed with pinking shears and then stitched to the aqua mist card stock.
Next up, is a card featuring Background Basics: Needlepoint, Boutique Borders: Congrats AND Congratulations!
I started out with a rustic cream card stock panel that I die cut a square out of using a Limitless Layers: Square die. Above and below the square, I stamped half of the frame from Boutique Borders: Congrats, using pure poppy ink.
Behind the square is a raspberry fizz card stock panel that was stamped with Background Basics: Needlepoint, using pure poppy ink.
The sentiment from Congratulations was stamped with pure poppy ink and adhered over the square. Gemstones added the perfect finishing detail.
One more for you today. For this card, I started out with kraft card stock and masked off the edges with copy paper before stamping it with one of the Background Basics: Needlepoint patterns using kraft ink.
Around the background pattern, I used a thin brown marker and a ruler to draw a frame.
The Boutique Borders: Congrats stamp set and die were used to create the sentiment panel which is layered on a strip of rustic cream card stock and mounted on top of a Doily Details die cut. A dark chocolate button and some twill ribbon snippets finished things off.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects!! There are lots more sneak peeks for you see so you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady and Heather Nichols. Melissa Bickford & Lizzie Jones will have peeks at their new sets as well.
Thanks for dropping by and I'll see you again tomorrow!
