Hi-ya, Friends...
We've had a GORGEOUS fall here and I've been snapping photos for awhile now to document the amazing colors all around me. In case you missed it, I have been sharing lots of pictures on Instagram -- you can see them or follow me HERE.
This is Blaze. She's our Autumn Blaze Maple and this year, she was more spectacular than ever! We had a very wet winter last year and all that extra moisture clearly did her a world of good! Plus, we planted her a few years ago and it's just been such a joy to watch her grow each year. She's almost tall enough to completely shade our deck now! (We planted her when the tree that used to shade our deck, was blown on top of our deck during a storm several years back!)
And this is our burning bush. Man, I love burning bushes. Such amazing color!
As I stood in our back yard with Windsor one day, I was amazed at all the colors I could see, just looking across the street and I was even happier to capture them all in this one shot! Trees of orange, red and green, plus the burning bush across the street.....I adore the colors of fall!
Above is our neighbors' gorgeous tree.....every year it turns the most spectacular shades of orange. And every year I take pictures of it because you just can't imagine how pretty it is in real life!
I hope you've enjoyed this little peek at the colors of fall in the Midwest! I'm sorry to tell you that we had an insanely blustery weekend and most of these leaves have blown off the trees, but I sure did enjoy them while they lasted!
And now I'm getting excited for all that comes with fall as we head into winter....cozy sweaters and fun socks...warm, toasty drinks, and of course, knitting by the fire! Happy sigh. Wood delivery day is coming soon and then we'll have our first fire of the season!! Gah. My favorite!!!
