Hello there, Friends and happy December 1st to you!! I can't believe that it's DECEMBER already! Holy smoke the last half of this year feels like it has flown by!
Of course, the first of the month means that it's time for the Senior Design Team Challenge at Papertrey Ink, and this month, we're focusing on the previously released Bells & Boughs stamp set designed by Maile Belles.
I'm not sure if I'd ever used the flowers from the set before today.....admittedly, I typically reach for the bell and bow images from the set. So this time, I thought it'd be fun to create a couple of floral Christmas items -- a card and coordinating tag.
I die cut the flowers from raspberry fizz card stock and stamped them with pure poppy ink. I topped each of the flowers with clear rhinestones that I colored with a red copic marker.
As for the pine branches, I wanted to bring in some hawaiian shores, which makes them remind me of our huge Blue Spruce tree! I stamped some in hawaiian shores and some in ripe avocado, on the rustic cream background panel. I also stamped more leaves on another piece of rustic cream card stock and cut them out with paper snips. Note that on a few of them, I stamped the medium sized solid pine bough with hawaiian shores ink and then stamped the smaller outline image directly over the top, using ripe avocado ink. All of the flowers and leaves were then layered on the cream background panel and the whole thing was anchored on a pure poppy card base with foam adhesive.
The two sentiments were stamped one above the other, with pure poppy and raspberry fizz inks.
And for the coordinating tag, I used the same flowers and leaves. This time I layered them on a die cut tag that was created with the tag sale #8 dies. The sentiment, also from Bells & Boughs, was stamped with smokey shadow ink. Some pure poppy baker's twine finished this little guy off!
Be sure to visit the other girls on the Senior Team to see their Bells & Boughs projects today too!
