Hi there! Welcome back for day 2 of the Papertrey December Countdown! I've got lots more Boutique Borders: Valentine inspiration for you, plus I also get to help introduce a new set to you, designed by Lexi Daly, called Cupid's Arrow! I've got lots to show you, so let's get right to the projects, shall we?
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on December 15 at 10pm EST.
On this first card, I paired a couple of stamp sets up with Boutique Borders: Valentine. To create the background, I used a floral image and a dot image from Erin Lincoln's new It's a Banner Day stamp set that Nichole introduced yesterday. I stamped the flowers in raspberry fizz, the dots in the centers of the flowers in pure poppy and accented with some hawaiian shores dots.
On the raspberry fizz card stock strip, I stamped the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from Boutique Borders: Valentine in pure poppy ink, as well as a sentiment from It's a Banner Day. Isn't that a sweet sentiment?
Just above the sentiments, I added a Boutique Borders: Valentine frame die cut stamped in pure poppy, topped with the banner from It's a Banner Day stamped in hawaiian shores and dark chocolate inks. Lastly, I stamped and hand cut the 'be mine' heart from 2010 Love Tags and accented it with a dark chocolate button.
Next up, I used the Boutique Borders: Valentine frame to create a large square frame by stamping half of it, four times in a row, turning the image each time until I'd created a square.
Inside the frame, I added a Limitless Layers: scalloped square die cut from hawaiian shores card stock as well as a plain square cut from pure poppy bitty dot paper. On top of that, I used Heather Nichols' new Heart Squared die and stamp set to create the patterned heart frame (see Nichole Heady's blog for more details about that today!). In the center of it all, I added a die cut raspberry fizz felt heart (cut with one of the new Cupid's Arrow dies) and topped with a threaded pure poppy button.
Along the bottom of the card, I stamped the sentiment from Boutique Borders: Valentine in dark chocolate ink, and added a strip of die cut scallops by using the heart border die.
Next up, I used the new Notched Heart Banners dies (check out Nichole's blog for more info), to create the two banner layers from rustic cream and pure poppy card stocks.
For the sentiment, I masked off one of the sentiments from Boutique Borders: Valentine and stamped the words separately, so I could place them one above the other on the banner.
I used the Cupid's Arrow dies to cut out the two hearts from raspberry fizz card stock, and then stamped them with the coordinating heart image from Cupid's Arrow using pure poppy ink. I then die cut some arrows with more Cupid's Arrow dies and stamped them with two different arrows from the stamp set. Lastly, I topped them with a couple of pure poppy buttons and the whole thing is layered on a piece of Damask Designs patterned paper!
One more before I go.....I went for the chalkboard look on this one and started out with some smokey shadow card stock that I stamped with the trio of arrows and the trio of hearts images from Cupid's Arrow.
Next, I used a white colored pencil to draw some lines around the edges to create a border. I then smudged on a bit of fresh snow ink here and there with my finger. The "Love struck!" sentiment is also from Cupid's Arrow.
The scalloped border was created with the heart border die and the "Be mine" sentiment is from Boutique Borders: Valentine.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! Did anything in particular catch your eye? I'd love to hear from you!
Don't forget to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols for lots more sneak peeks. Melissa Bickford, Erin Lincoln, Lizzie Jones and Lexi Daly will have peeks at their new sets as well.
I'll be back here tomorrow with some more Boutique Borders: Valentine cards to share with you, that I'm really excited about! I hope you'll stop back by!
