Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey December Countdown and this month, I'm thrilled to be bringing you the next installment in my Boutique Borders series -- Boutique Borders: Valentine! You are going to love the versatility of this classicly styled frame that can be mixed and matched with a huge variety of sentiments and images that you may already have in your collection! And of course the Valentine sentiments included in the set, will be perfect for creating Valentines for years to come!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on December 15 at 10pm EST.
Can I just pause for one brief second to say how much I LOVE the colors of Valentine's Day?!! Haha!! This has to be one of my favorite times of the year for paper-crafting! All of the pink and red and aqua just make me HAPPY! So I hope you enjoy today's projects as much as I enjoyed making them to share with you. :)
On this first card, I started out with a rustic cream card base and simply stamped some Harvest Berries leaves in pure poppy ink as well as some of the berries from the set, in hawaiian shores ink. And on top of that, I stamped a couple rows of dots using Polka Dot Basics II. I'm bringing the dots back, baby! Haha.....I haven't used them in quite awhile, but dots and Valentines just go hand in hand, don't you think?
I topped the stamping with a new Boutique Borders: Valentine die cut. It was cut from raspberry fizz card stock and the coordinating frame image was stamped with pure poppy ink, followed by one of the sentiments from Boutique Borders: Valentine in smokey shadow ink.
Next up, I started with an aqua mist card base and stamped some Fancy Flourishes in hawaiian shores ink.
The Boutique Borders: Valentine frame was die cut from rustic cream card stock and stamped with dark chocolate ink, followed by the other sentiment in the set using pure poppy ink. It was layered on a raspberry fizz doily details die cut and a cork tag sale #4 die cut. Some pure poppy baker's twine finished things off nicely.
One more for today.....on this one, I also started out with an aqua mist card base and stitched a large strip of notched vellum to the card front.
I used a new Love die to create the hawaiian shores love (see Nichole Heady's blog for more details about that!) and layered it on a piece of rustic cream card stock that I first stamped with Polka Dot Basics II and aqua mist ink (I told you I was bringing the dots back!) and then a sentiment from Boutique Borders: Valentine with dark chocolate ink.
Peeking out from behind the top and bottom of the sentiment panel, I added half of a die cut Boutique Borders: Valentine frame that was stamped with hawaiian shores ink on rustic cream card stock.
Just below the word Love, I stamped a few little hearts, also included in the Boutique Borders: Valentine set, using dark chocolate ink. And here you can see the other half of the Boutique Borders: Valentine frame, peeking out the bottom of the card! By using the Boutique Borders frames in this way, it allows you to add an extra bit of detail to your focal point!
All right, my friends....I'm off for now, but you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Betsy Veldman, & Maile Belles for lots more sneak peeks. Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Erin Lincoln, Lizzie Jones and Lexi Daly will have peeks at their new sets as well.
I hope you enjoyed today's projects! I'll see you back here tomorrow for lots more Boutique Borders: Valentine inspiration!
