Hello there!! Happy New Year!!!!
I hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve, whether you stayed in for a quiet celebration at home like we did, or went out on the town! And I hope today, you're kicking back and enjoying a little rest!
While I'm wishing you a Happy New Year, I also want to wish my little sister, Glory Anna, a happy 19th birthday!! (I have a sister born on New Year's Day and another on Valentine's Day!)
Since it's the first of the month, that always means that it's time for another Senior Team Challenge at Papertrey Ink and this month, we're busting out our Button Boutique stamp sets, which I must admit, I haven't used in far too long! I had a ton of fun creating today's card and coordinating gift tag!
First up, let's talk about the gift tag. I've told you before that I love to create fun gift tags to dress up otherwise ordinary kraft gift bags. I think it's a great way to go because the recipient can use the kraft bag for a zillion other things afterward plus kraft bags are really pretty stylish in their own right! And not only that, but it really lets your fun gift tag be the star of the gift bag show! Haha!
Here's what I did to get this look. I used the wine bottle tag die to cut out two layers -- rustic cream card stock and new leaf striped paper. On the striped layer, I added a paper doily and trimmed off the left edge. I adhered the two tags together and also to the bag, with a single strip of scor-tape on the back of each layer, near the top.
Next, I used the button card die and Button Boutique stamp set to create the fun button card and then stitched some new leaf buttons to the card. Up at the top, I added a teeny little library clip (Stampin' Up!) and tied some cotton twine around the handle of the gift bag.
I adhered the tag layers only at the top, so that you can lift the top layer to reveal a message to the recipient beneath!
As for the card, I used a lot of the same elements and just changed up the details a bit.
The wine bottle tag layers here, include rustic cream card stock and hawaiian shores bitty dot paper. I also used the pinked edge die that comes in the Button Card die collection, to add the new leaf bitty dot layer and then topped it with some hawaiian shores buttons. The button card images were stamped with new leaf and ripe avocado inks.
On the kraft card base, I used the stitching impression plate which works perfectly with the button theme!
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects and they've inspired you to pull out your Button Boutique stamp set and create something lovely!
