Hi-ya!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
Today, the team is sharing projects with you, featuring another stamp set designed by Nichole Heady, this one called Doodlie-do! It features doodle-style floral images and today, we've been given the challenge of using this set featuring a variety of techniques. For my first card, I couldn't wait to heat emboss these images with clear embossing powder on various colors of card stock.
Gah! Aren't they fun? I used raspberry fizz, berry sorbet, pure poppy and hawaiian shores for the flowers and simply chartreuse for the leaves. Such a simple technique but it really packs a punch! Those shiny images just POP!
Next up, I decided to use the flip technique by turning the back sides of each of the stamps over, and inking up the WRONG side of the stamp, to add color to the images.
To get started, I laid the stamps on the card stock, image side down, just like you would normally stamp them. I wanted to stamp them all first, in smokey shadow ink, so by placing most of the images where I wanted first, I was then able to lay the large block down on top of them all, to pick them all up at once. That way, I was able to stamp them all at once!
After they were all stamped in smokey shadow ink, I went back in with each stamp individually, flipped it over and inked up the back side, and then stamped it on the coordinating image. This is a fairly quick way to add color to outline images.
I also stamped a few extra flowers and cut out the centers, popping them up with foam adhesive.
The sentiment is also from Doodlie-do, stamped in dark chocolate ink.
One more before I go.....this one with Boutique Borders: Friends.
I paired it with the new Background Basics: Diagonals and the coordinating Background Basics: Diagonal Additions stamp sets. I stamped the diagonals first in berry sorbet ink, just on the left 2/3 of the card front.
Then I went back in and added some dark chocolate and summer sunrise sections, with the Additions set. Lastly, I stamped the frame and sentiment from Boutique Borders: Friends with dark chocolate ink. It's another one layer card, perfect for popping in the mail!
I'm off for now, but be sure to see what the other girls on the team have in store for you today!
