Hello there, dear readers, and happy FEBRUARY!! Good grief, I can't believe I just said that.....is it just me, or does it seem like just a couple weeks ago, we were celebrating the new year and taking down the Christmas decorations! Haha.
Well, the first of the month always brings with it, a fun challenge for the Senior Design Team at Papertrey Ink and this month, Nichole has challenged us to bust out our Movers & Shakers dies and stamps to create a fun, interactive card!
I love using the Movers & Shakers dies, because they allow you to be creative in a whole different way! You get to think outside the box a bit, in order to make the card interactive and it's just plain fun! I opted to use the Movers & Shakers: Sliders dies to create this card. Let's get started.....
Firstly, I used the two dies that coordinate to create a vertical slider and die cut the front portion from aqua mist card stock and the back portion from new leaf card stock. I stamped some Harvest Berries leaves in new leaf ink on the aqua mist layer.
I found it easiest to go ahead and adhere the two pieces together (simply fold up the tab on the back layer and adhere them together only at the tab) and then added 1/8" scor-tape around the three exposed edges of aqua mist card stock.
Then I flipped the whole thing over and stamped the sentiments on the front of the new leaf layer. You'll see those in just a bit, but basically, it was easier to get everything positioned just right so the sentiment doesn't peek out into the pull tab, if everything was put together first.
I flipped the whole thing back over and adhered it to the hawaiian shores card front. I couldn't resist topping the slider with some berry sorbet flowers using the Ruby Rose stamp set -- they're the perfect size for this slider die! They were topped with buttons and I added one more cluster of die cut Harvest Berries leaves.
You want to be sure to only adhere your embellishments to the bottom half of the sliding portion, to make sure they allow the sliding function to happen. ;)
And here are the sentiments -- all are from the Movers & Shakers: Sentiments stamp set. I love that little "pull here" stamp!
The stitching impression plate was used on the card base to give it a bit of added texture.
The rest of the girls on the team have Movers & Shakers projects to share with you today, so be sure to pay them all a visit!
