Hi there!!
I'm so excited to get to help tell you about a new feature that's going to be happening at Papertrey Ink, called the Stamp Designer Showcase! Each month, different stamp designers will be participating by choosing one of their own previously released stamp sets and showing you some brand new, never-before-seen projects using those sets! It's a great way for you to get some fresh inspiration for some of the older sets you may have in your stash, or perhaps you'll discover a stamp set that you didn't know you just had to have! Haha! Maybe you didn't see it when it when it was first released or perhaps it's just somehow managed to fly under your radar -- until now! ;)
Keep an eye out in the Papertrey newsletter each month, for which stamp designers will be playing along that month!
This month, I chose to showcase my Scattered Showers and Scattered Showers Additions stamp sets and, of course, the Scattered Showers dies. For this first card, I kept it super simple. If single layer cards are more your style, then this is just the ticket. And you could easily whip up several of these in just a few minutes!
The card base is stamper's select white and I stamped the sentiment and umbrella handles from Scattered Showers using smokey shadow ink. The umbrella tops were stamped with summer sunrise, hawaiian shores and raspberry fizz inks. You could do these in a million different color combos. You could even do ombre colors!
Now, if your style is a bit more layered, this might have more appeal for you. I paired a few images from Scattered Showers with the wellies image from Scattered Showers Additions and the new Monthly Moments: Slide Frame. I just love how easy it is to mix and match previously released Papertrey sets with brand new ones, don't you?! It's such a great way to breathe new life into an older set!
The card base is rustic cream card stock and I stamped the small flower and tiny leaves from Scattered Showers repeatedly around one corner of the frame, directly on the base. Then, I die cut an umbrella and stamped it with hawaiian shores and smokey shadow inks. The wellies were stamped with pure poppy ink and hand cut and the sentiment banner was also trimmed by hand. The sentiment from Scattered Showers was stamped in new leaf ink.
As for the frame, it was stamped with summer sunrise ink as well as smokey shadow on the "this side toward screen" sentiment. It was backed with some kraft card stock.
And of course a shot with my actual red Hunter wellies!! :) This stamp set was the second set I ever released, back in 2009 and I didn't have any wellies way back then, but I've loved them for a long time! These were a gift from my hottie hubs this past Christmas and I adore them! They've been so great in all this snow and slush we've had this winter! Anyway, it's been so fun to get out this wellie stamp and create my own little paper boots inspired by the real thing!
All righty, that's it for me today! I hope I've inspired you to bust out your Scattered Showers sets and get inky! Do you have the sets already? Or are they maybe on your wish list? I'd love to hear!
Hope you have a fabulous day! Chat with you soon!
