Helloooo! I've got a couple of cards to share with you today!
Maybe you've already used Papertrey's dies to emboss patterns or shapes into your cards, but did you know the new Monthly Moments journal card dies are perfect for adding subtle embossed frames to your projects? They're an ideal size for use on cards! With spring in the air and some gorgeous new ranunculus plants from the nursery brightening our kitchen, I couldn't resist pulling out my Cutting Garden stamp set and pairing it with a dry embossed frame for a fresh, springy look on a pair of cards, perfect for brightening someone's day! I hope to show you just how easy it is to achieve this look for yourself!
These frames really couldn't be easier. Simply choose the frame of your choice -- in this case, I used the new Monthly Moments: Journal Card 2 die, but you could use ANY of the huge selection of frame dies from Papertrey (the Mat Stacks would work perfectly for this!). I imagine you've probably gone at least one or two in your stash! You may have already done this technique yourself, but just in case, here's how I did it. I lined the die up on the front of my card, blade facing the card front. Then on the BACK side of the card front, I placed the tan & vanilla embossing mats from Papertrey and then ran it through my Vagabond. You'll want to use whatever sandwich you typically use for embossing here.
The result is a beautifully embossed frame, perfect for adding a touch of detail to your card! I stamped a sentiment from Cutting Garden inside the frame with dark chocolate ink and then added die cut Cutting Garen flowers and leaves. The colors I used are pure poppy, berry sorbet, raspberry fizz and ripe avocado.
Here, I did the same thing, but this time I changed the orientation of the card to vertical. The colors I used are raspberry fizz, orange zest, summer sunrise and ripe avocado.
Again, the sentiment is one from the Cutting Garden stamp set.
If you're a scrapbooker and you bought the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 2 die for use in your Monthly Moments albums, then you're already one step closer to being able to whip up simple, yet beautiful cards out of your scrap stash!
And if you're a card maker, don't overlook the possibilities that a lot of "scrapbook supplies" can offer you in your card making!
Wishing you a lovely day!
