Hi there!
It's time for the first Group Post this month, as part of the Papertrey Countdown! Today, the entire team is focusing on a stamp set and dies designed by Nichole Heady called Embellished Elegance. I'll also have some more peeks for you, at Background Basics: Art Deco as well as the two new Birthday Classics sets this month!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on March 15 at 10pm EST.
Nichole asked each of us to create a very simple card with Embellished Elegance, as well as a more detailed, layered card. How about we start with the simple one? :)
I started out with a piece of rustic cream card stock and stamped a couple of the sentiment pieces from Embellished Elegance, using hawaiian shores and dark chocolate inks.
Then, I began stamping branches around the sentiment. Once I had all the branches in place, I went back in and added a few flowers here and there. The entire panel was adhered to the front of a berry sorbet card base.
Next up, I started with another rustic cream panel and stamped the sentiment where I wanted it, using the same inks as on the first card. Then, I die cut several branches and stamped each with it's coordinating image using new leaf ink. Then, I placed them where I would later adhere them, and stamped the flower images and then went back and adhered each branch in place.
The entire panel was adhered to a hawaiian shores card base with foam adhesive.
I also added a couple of die cut flowers, for a bit of extra dimension.
Ok, so next up, let's switch gears just a bit and talk about Background Basics: Art Deco! Did you know that the "arches" look just as pretty when stamped upside down? They do! You can stamp them whichever way you prefer!
I stamped a sentiment from Ruby Rose in the upper right corner of a stamper's select white card base, using new leaf ink. Then, I used Delightful Dahlia Additions and the dies, to create these flowers and leaves. The flowers were stamped with aqua mist ink, followed by hawaiian shores and then tropical teal. The leaves were stamped with new leaf ink and then topped with tropical teal. A strip of tropical teal card stock served as an anchor for the flowers and a divider between the sentiment and pattern.
The Background Basics: Art Deco "arches" were stamped with tropical teal ink and the diamonds with hawaiian shores.
Next up is a Birthday Classics: March card for you -- this one with a masculine twist!
On the kraft card base, I used the woodgrain impression plate to add to the masculine feel.
Check it out -- the Birthday Classics: March large sentiment is a perfect fit inside the Monthly Moments: Slide Frame die from last month!! I love that! I stamped the sentiment in dark chocolate ink and the frame in new leaf ink. Then, I added several Leave It Be die cut leaves that were stamped with new leaf and tropical teal inks.
One more for you today.....this one, featuring Birthday Classics: April.
I stamped the leaf image from Blooming Button Bits a few of times and then used the new Bitty Button Stacks dies, to create the flowers from pure poppy, raspberry fizz and stamper's select white card stocks. Each stack was stitched together with rustic cream button twine.
I used sentiment pieces from Birthday Classics: April to build the sentiment and stamped them in dark chocolate and raspberry fizz inks. The white card stock panel was layered on a raspberry fizz card base.
All righty then, I'm off for now, but as with every group post, the whole team has projects to share with you so you'll want to be sure to pay them each a visit!
