Hello there! It's Day 4 of the Papertrey April Countdown and I'm back with more Birthday Classics: May cards to share with you!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on April 15 at 10pm EST.
To start things off, I have a really fun card to show you.....with all of the "radiant orchid" Pantone color of the year photos that are all over Pinterest these days, I've been craving that color on my projects! So I pulled out my old Orchid Opulance ink pad from Stampin' Up! from ages ago and was thrilled to find it still super inky and ready to go! YAY! So I paired it with a bunch of Papertrey goodies and that's how this card got started....
I used two new Monthly Moments dies to create the pocket and insert on this card! (See Nichole Heady's blog for more info) These dies work beautifully on cards too -- they're not just for pocket scrapbooking!
On the pocket itself, I stamped it with Polka Dot Basics III using SU's orchid opulance ink and then topped it with Papertrey's winter wisteria on a few of the dots.
There was a perfect little space left at the top of the pocket, to stamp the "Have a great day!" sentiment from Birthday Classics: May! (It's stamped in winter wisteria ink.)
At the top of the insert card, you can see that I added the little "pull here" stamp from Movers and Shakers Sentiments.
On the outside of the pocket, I added some Rosie Posie flowers and leaves. The flowers were die cut from lavender moon card stock and then stamped with orchid opulance and winter wisteria inks. The leaves were cut from rustic cream card stock and stamped with spring moss and ripe avocado inks. (I stamped the ripe avocado ink off once, before stamping the leaves, to soften the color a bit.)
And here is the insert card, stamped with more Rosie Posie flowers and leaves as well as three sentiment components from Birthday Classics: May!
Next up is a simple one layer card, perfect for popping in the mail!
The sentiment from Birthday Classics: May was stamped on the rustic cream card base with smokey shadow ink. The flowers and leaves are from The Sweet Life. For the flowers, I stamped them with hibiscus burst ink, followed by melon berry and topped with berry sorbet. The leaves were stamped with new leaf ink, however the first layer was stamped off once before stamping on the card front.
One more for today.....a simple little 'just because' type card!
The card base is kraft card stock and it's topped with a rustic cream layer that was impressed with the stitching impression plate.
The limitless layers: 2.5" circle dies were used on the raspberry fizz and pure poppy layers. On the raspberry fizz circle, I stamped it with Background Basics: Art Deco, using pure poppy ink. The sentiment is from Birthday Classics: May and was stamped in smokey shadow ink and a few pure poppy buttons were added to accent the sentiment.
I'm off for now, but you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols, Ashley Newell, Melissa Phillips and Danielle Flanders for lots more sneak peeks. Erin Lincoln, Melissa Bickford, Lizzie Jones and Lexi Daly will have peeks at their new sets as well.
Thanks so much for sharing a bit of your day with me! I hope you enjoyed today's cards!
See you tomorrow, friends...
