Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, the whole team is focusing on the new Simple Stars stamp set and Cover Plate: Stars die, designed by Nichole Heady!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on April 15 at 10pm EST.
Nichole asked us each to find two inspiration photos to use as color inspiration for our cards today.....one more feminine and one more masculine. First up, the photo I was inspired by for my feminine card...
Lovely, isn't it?! And here is the card I created, inspired by the colors in the photo...
The card base is aqua mist and it's topped with a white layer that was die cut with the new Cover Plate: Stars die, however I trimmed off one row of stars, so that the aqua card base would show on either side of the white panel. I popped out all of the stars and backed the panel with tropical teal card stock.
The sentiment from Simple Stars was stamped on a strip of new leaf card stock with tropical teal ink. I stamped a few of the stars from Simple Stars, in new leaf ink and cut them out with paper snips, to accent the sentiment. The solid green star was topped with one of the die cut white stars, followed by a green Studio Calico gem.
And now, for a more masculine color scheme....
I love grays and dusty oranges together for guys. Below is the card I created with these colors in mind.....
I started out with a stamper's select white card base this time and die cut smokey shadow card stock with the Cover Plate: Stars die. I did the same thing on this card -- trimmed off one row of stars. However on this card, I flipped the cover plate die cut around, so that the sentiment strip would be at the bottom of the card.
I popped out a few of the smokey shadow stars and replaced them with white stars that were stamped with images from Simple Stars using canyon clay ink. The sentiment was stamped on soft stone card stock using smokey shadow and canyon clay inks.
Next up, I got a little chalkboard-ish! ;) I stamped the white card stock panel with Delightful Dahlia Additions, using lavender moon, Stampin' Up! orchid opulance, winter wisteria, spring moss and ripe avocado inks. I layered that panel on a lavender moon card base.
The sentiment from Birthday Classics: May was stamped in fresh snow ink on a piece of smokey shadow ink that was die cut with the wine bottle tag die. The chalkboard tag was attached with a regular old staple. ;)
One more.....for this one, I used a stamper's select white card base. However, I pulled out some of that delicious super heavy card stock from the first Make It Market kit, which is perfect for watercoloring, and added the watercolor.
The limitless layers: 1.5" square dies were used to cut out the vintage book print and smokey shadow layers. A hawaiian shores bitty dot butterfly was cut out with a beautiful butterflies die and all three layers were stitched together on my sewing machine before I topped them with a threaded tropical teal button.
Once the watercolor was completely dry, I stamped the sentiments and flourish from Birthday Classics: May, using smokey shadow and new leaf inks.
