Well, I am beyond thrilled to report that we are off to the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina today! It's been two years since our first visit when we fell in love with the Biltmore and we've been so anxious to go again and spend a little more time there. We've been counting down the weeks until we could hop on a plane and head that way! Our dear friends from Australia are meeting us there for a few days and then they're off for more traveling while we go visit my bestie and her family. We can't wait to see these two couples who have become like family to us!! We're so excited!
In the meantime, my sweet sister and her hubby are bringing Baby Benji and spending the week at our house with Windsor. Win will be EXHAUSTED when we get back, I'm sure!! Hahaha! My poor sister probably will too, after chasing a baby and an overgrown dog-baby at the same time! Benji has started walking now, and every time he and Windsor pass each other, Windsor tries to lick Benji's face (or grab his binky off it's little ribbon) and Benji tries to swat Windsor's face. Hahaha! I'm never quite sure who to reprimand first! "Windsor, no licking the baby!" "Benji, be geeeeentle....don't hit the doggy!" Haha! Ahhh.....good times. :)
We've made our decision regarding treatment for Bart's prostate cancer. We've opted to go with robotic surgery. It's several very small incisions rather than one large one, so much less blood loss during surgery and also a way faster recovery time. It's typically just one overnight in the hospital. It also provides massive multiplication to the doctor's vision, so he can be much more precise and delicate in avoiding damage to critical nerves, so hopefully less long-term side effects from the surgery. He'll still have to be off work for a couple weeks and have restricted activity for a month or so after that, but we're hopeful that this option will give him the best chance for getting rid of the cancer completely, as well as a full recovery long-term. Thank you SO much for praying for us as we made that decision!! We both feel a huge peace about it, and I know that's because so many of you have been praying for us! We have to wait 6 weeks after his biopsy, to let the inflammation go down, before they can do the surgery, so it's scheduled in June. The doctor told us to go on vacation and just enjoy our time away and not think about it, and that's just what we plan to do! ;) Especially in light of everything that's been going on in our lives lately, if ever I was ready for a getaway, it's now! Haha!
We're not quite sure how things are gonna go on this trip, with me and food though. So if you think of it, we would soooo appreciate your prayers that I would feel well while we travel, and that I'll be able to avoid the foods that give me trouble (even though we don't know what all those are yet). THANK YOU for praying for us.....I know I keep saying that, but it means more to us than you know!
