Hello there! It's Day 2 of the Papertrey May Countdown and I've got several more cards to share with you featuring my new stamp sets -- Background Basics: Venice and Birthday Classics: June!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15 at 10pm EST.
To get started on this first card, I used an aqua mist card base and stamped the two large background strips from Background Basics: Venice, with hawaiian shores and new leaf inks. So fun, yes?
I used a new die to cut out the swirly white bits (see Nichole Heady's blog for more info about that today!) and tucked them around the sentiment panel, securing each with a little tape on the back side. I added one die cut to the top and one to the bottom portion of the sentiment panel.
This is the large sentiment from Birthday Classics: June, stamped in pure poppy ink. Isn't it such a fun birthday sentiment?! Ahhh....summer birthdays. :)
On this next card, I started with a kraft card base and stamped a pattern with Background Basics: Venice, using fresh snow ink.
The flowers were die cut and stamped with The Sweet Life stamps and dies. For the flowers, I used Stampin' Up's orchid opulance ink followed by raspberry fizz and plum pudding. The leaves were stamped with new leaf and ripe avocado inks. The sentiment is from Keep It Simple: Sympathy (see Nichole's blog for more info about this today, as well) and was stamped in plum pudding ink directly over the fresh snow background. I love that effect. It really softens that dark purple a bit.
Here's a quick and fun little card you could send to brighten someone's day! I stamped some dots from Polka Dot Basics on the kraft card base with fresh snow ink.
I die cut a stamper's select white card stock circle with the Limitless Layers: 2 1/2" circle dies and then stamped it with Background Basics: Venice using berry sorbet and pure poppy inks. It's layered on a melon berry mat, also cut out with the Limitless Layers dies. The sentiments are both from Birthday Classics: June. The small sentiment "wishing you a beautiful" was stamped in berry sorbet ink on a thin strip of white card stock and the "Summer" was stamped in pure poppy ink directly on the card base.
One more for you today.....for this one, I took a panel of the letterpress card stock from the Luxe Letterpress kit and heat embossed it with Background Basics: Venice using clear embossing powder. (The embossing sort of sinks into this particular card stock since it's so thick.) Then, I painted on a layer of water over the pattern followed by some watercolor inks.
Once they were dry (I used my heat tool to help the process along), I stamped the first half of the sentiment -- "June" -- at the top of the panel.
Then, I stamped the rest of the sentiment "birthdays are the most fun!", on the guide lines grid card base and adhered the watercolor panel with foam adhesive.
Ok, I'm off for now, but I hope you've enjoyed your time with me today! I'll be back tomorrow with lots more to share.
Several of the other girls on the team have projects to share with you as well! You'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Betsy Veldman and Melissa Phillips for lots more sneak peeks. Heather Nichols, Lizzie Jones, Erin Lincoln, Melissa Bickford and Lexi Daly will have peeks at their new sets as well.
See you back here tomorrow!
