Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey May Countdown and this month, I'm thrilled to introduce you to two new Raspberry Suite stamp sets -- Background Basics: Venice and Birthday Classics: June!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15 at 10pm EST.
Background Basics: Venice is a background building set that I designed after one of our trips to Venice! I was so inspired by the architecture there.....it's just such a gorgeous and amazing place and I was so excited to see this stamp set come to life. The set consists of a double-wide background strip as well as a single-wide strip to fill in the spaces on the first strip. The nice thing about that double-wide strip is that it'll save you a little stamping time, allowing you to fill up your stamped space a bit quicker. The set also contains 10 small accent stamps that you can stamp in spaces on the larger pattern, or even over the top of various areas of the pattern. These give you the opportunity to easily add additional colors to your pattern and really allows you to create a huge variety of different patterns just by changing those little accents.
And of course, you don't have to use those small stamps at all. You can easily just use one or both of the large strips to create gorgeously detailed patterns. Let's get right to today's projects and I'll show you what I've created!
On this first card, I used a piece of stamper's select white card stock and stamped the two background strips from Background Basics: Venice in hawaiian shores and aqua mist inks.
I used the Round Repeats stamp set to create this medallion/flower with melon berry and berry sorbet inks and then tucked some Leave It Be leaves behind the flower.
The sentiment was created with stamps from the new Birthday Classics: June stamp set! Don't you just love the font used in the word "June"? That "J" makes me happy every time I see it! Haha.
On this card, I used the large sentiment from Birthday Classics: June, stamping it on a Mat Stack 4 die cut. Talk about a perfect fit!! I stamped the sentiment in new leaf ink, followed by a second one on a scrap of white card stock, in summer sunrise ink. I cut the sun out and popped it up over the green sun, with foam adhesive.
On the Hawaiian Shores card base, I heat embossed Background Basics: Venice with clear embossing powder. SO much detail and shine!
Just under the mat stack layer, I added a thin strip of berry sorbet card stock as well as a strip of pure poppy bitty dot paper. It serves as an anchor for the sentiment and adds an interesting pop of color.
One more for you today.....for this one, I paired the new Splat stamp set (details about this set can be found on Nichole Heady's blog today) with Birthday Classics: June.
I stamped the "hello" image from Splat three times on some of the white letterpress card stock from the Luxe Letterpress kit from a couple months ago. The result is an almost weathered look....I like it! I stamped the splats (haha) using raspberry fizz, canyon clay and pure poppy inks. The sentiment was created with three stamps from Birthday Classics: June and they were all stamped with summer sunrise ink.
All right, friends....I'm off for now, but I hope you've enjoyed these first peeks at Background Basics: Venice and Birthday Classics: June! I'd love to hear from you.... what do you think so far???
Don't forget to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols, Maile Belles and Laura Bassen for lots more sneak peeks today. Lizzie Jones, Erin Lincoln, Melissa Bickford and Lexi Daly will have peeks at their new sets as well.
