Hi there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, you are in for a treat because we're focusing on a new set designed by Nichole Heady called Life is Beautiful, featuring these stunning over-sized butterflies!!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15 at 10pm EST.
Seriously, I kinda wanted to use these on every project this week, but I've restrained myself and only made three cards with them. So far. Haha.
To start off, I've got a pretty simple card for you.....two butterflies were die cut using summer sunrise and orange zest bitty dot papers. They're only adhered together on the body and antennae so that way, the wings can fluff forward.
I used the new Monthly Moments: Instant Photo 1 die to cut out the hawaiian shores frame and then stamped it with sentiment components from Life is Beautiful, using dark chocolate and hawaiian shores inks. The white card base is impressed with the Cover Plate: Quatrefoil die.
It looks like a lot of detail, but really, this card was so fast and easy to whip up!
Next up, a more technique-y card for you! This time, I used the emboss resist technique to create this cheery card. I heat embossed the butterflies on white card stock with clear embossing powder. Then, I pulled out a couple of watercolor paints, brushed water on the card around the butterflies and then brushed on some watercolor over the water. Once all the color was brushed on, I set it aside to let it dry. Because I didn't wipe off the white butterflies right away with a paper towel, all those extra little bits of paint dried onto the butterfly wings, adding some additional spots of color! You can certainly wipe those off right away if you prefer, and then you'd have totally pristine butterflies.
The sentiments from Life is Beautiful were stamped with summer sunrise and smokey shadow inks.
Here's another butterfly card for you. This time, I paired the butterflies with Background Basics: Venice!
The card base is berry sorbet card stock and I stamped Background Basics: Venice on white card stock with berry sorbet and raspberry fizz inks. Then, I went back in with two of the little detail stamps from Background Basics: Venice and stamped them using pure poppy ink. The butterflies were die cut from berry sorbet and raspberry fizz card stocks and the sentiments from Life is Beautiful, were stamped witn pure poppy ink.
One more for you before I go....this one features Birthday Classics: June. I stamped the sentiment in hawaiian shores ink on white card stock and then stamped clusters of berries from Strawberry Patch around the sentiment. Nothin' says summer like fresh strawberries, right? :)
Ok, that's all I've got for you today, but I hope you've enjoyed these projects! The entire team has Life is Beautiful projects to share with you so don't miss those!
