Hi there!
It's time for a Papertrey Group Post! Today, the whole team is highlighting a variety of new baby products that you're just gonna love, including the new Baby Bootie dies, designed by Erin Lincoln!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on May 15 at 10pm EST.
To get started, we have to talk about the little baby booties. I just used the basic Baby Bootie dies to cut out some dark chocolate felt and stitched them up with a kraft colored embroidery floss. I used three strands of floss, to stitch these up. The basic booties, like you see here, are sort of moccasin in style, which are hugely popular for babies these days! So cute for a baby boy, yes? But of course, Erin thought of everything and has also designed a set of additional dies that you can use to dress up these little booties in a variety of shoe styles!
I also used the Baby Booties Patches dies, to add these little patches to the bottoms and insides of the booties, using kraft felt. You might have also noticed that I used the kraft felt for the little strips at the back of the booties -- there are two strips there...one on the inside and one on the outside of the bootie. If you're adding the patches or strips, by doing them on the outside AND the inside, you get a more finished look and you're able to easily hide all your stitches inside the bootie.
To wrap them up, I used a simply little paper mache box from the craft store -- this one is a 5" square and the booties are a perfect fit!! I cut up a bit of rafia inside the box to nestle the booties in.
I put a strip of Papertrey's burlap on the box lid, as well as a dark chocolate grosgrain bow. And then I whipped up this darling little gift tag using the Tag Sale #7 die and the new Rattled stamp set, designed by Lexi Daly! The rattle, the "oh baby!" tag and the sentiment are all from Rattled.
And of course, I whipped up a coordinating card for baby boy. The card base is aqua mist card stock and I stamped the "just for you" sentiment with dark chocolate ink and then ran it through the vagabond with the woodgrain impression plate.
The little "oh baby" tag fits nicely on a limitless layers: 2 1/4" square die so I stamped it and then stitched the layers together. The Rattled dies were used to add the fun little rattle on top.
And now, how about a Background Basics: Venice card? :)
I pulled out the Garden Grace stamp set and dies to create the flowers....I stamped them with Stampin' Up's orchid opulance ink topped with Papertrey's raspberry fizz ink. The leaves were stamped with ripe avocado ink and the mother's day sentiment from Garden Grace was stamped with orchid opulance as well.
Now, let's talk about the background over there! I used the smaller strip from Background Basics: Venice and created yet another new pattern simply by only stamping the pointed design elements and eliminating the row of circles! I stamped it so that the circles were hanging off the card the first time and then flipped the stamp around and stamped it again so that the circles are under the raspberry fizz card stock layer! I love this look!! Must remember to do this again!
Ok, one more for you today.....one of the great things about the Birthday Classics series, is the extra little sentiment stamps that you can use to create a variety of different sentiments! In this case, I stamped "wishing you a beautiful" and "summer" and paired them with images in a garden theme. When I think of summer, I think of our homegrown tomatoes and that makes me happy! And I think it makes for a super fun little day-brightener type card to send to a friend.
I used the Garden Variety II stamp set to stamp the frame in hawaiian shores ink and then used the Vegetable Garden stamp set and dies to create those cutie tomatoes. The 'tomato' sentiment is also from Vegetable Garden.
The tomatoes were inked with raspberry fizz and pure poppy inks on the left one and orange zest and pure poppy on the right one.
Ok, that's it for me for today, but be sure to visit each of the girls on the team, to see their baby projects!! You won't want to miss them!
