Hello, friends....
Just wanted to share a quick update with you. Tomorrow is my sweet hubby's surgery (for prostate cancer) and we would so appreciate your prayers for him, for his doctors, nurses and care-givers while he's in surgery and in the hospital and for me, while I wait. ;) We've both felt such a peace about things leading up to surgery day, but I'm sure tomorrow will include a few jitters at the very least. It is surgery, after all....there are always concerns no matter how well things are supposed to go.
As for me, I've continued to have tummy issues so my doctors have me on another round of elimination diet, to hopefully pinpoint what foods may be a problem for my stomach. If this doesn't shed any light on things after 6 weeks of the diet (and then re-introducing foods slowly), the next step is for my doctor to send me to Mayo Clinic. Perhaps the diet will tell us what we need to know and I won't have to go to Mayo, but of course if I do, we need to get Bart totally recovered before we worry about that. Fun times at the McVey ranch! Ha!
I know I joke and try to keep things light here, but we truly do appreciate your prayers and I would be so grateful if you'd continue to pray for my sweet Bartley as he goes through surgery tomorrow and recovery after that. He'll hopefully only have one overnight in the hospital, but that'll be followed by at least a couple weeks off work and restricted exercise after that. He's not a 'good patient' -- wink! -- he would tell you that himself. He hates being laid up for any reason, so this may be a challenge for him....and therefore, me as well. Ha! We'll see how it goes. ;)
The Papertrey Countdown starts tomorrow and I've got my posts ready to go, so you shouldn't miss a beat as far as that goes. I've got tons to share with you this week, so I hope you'll join me each day!
