Hey there! Just popping in to share another great book with you!
Chateau of Secrets by Melanie Dobson
I read this book in just a few days, it was so good. I don't know what it is, but give me a book with a gorgeous, semi-abandoned castle filled with secret tunnels and secret stories to unravel and I'm in. IN! Haha. This book told such a great story of love and hope, survival and loss....and wove two women's stories together -- one from the past and one from the present. It was just very intriging, very captivating and I'd definitely recommend it. It was so good that I had to wait a few days after I finished it before starting another book, just so I could let this one sort of ruminate in my mind a bit! LOL.
Hope you enjoy it!
I also wanted to say thank you, for all the birthday love so many of you sent my way yesterday, on instagram and twitter! I turned 39 (that sounds SO weird!) and we had a great dinner out last night, which was so fun! I have to order everything prepared as plainly as absolutely possible right now -- just olive oil and maybe lemon juice -- though that didn't seem to hurt my scallops any -- they were still aMAzing! And Bartley took one for the team and ate my free dessert for me. So good of him, don't you think? ;) Having so few options when eating out is certainly not fun, but it's way better than being sick or messing up this elimination diet! I've got two weeks to go on the diet....I've still not been feeling well at least part of each day. After I finish the 6 week diet, then Mayo Clinic becomes a possibility, if I'm still not feeling any better. I'll keep you posted.
Also, Bartley went back to work yesterday for the first time post-surgery! Got to drive for the first time too, so it was a big day around here! Haha. He continues to do really well.....we're just so thrilled that he's recovering so nicely and relatively quickly, too!
Oh, and in other news, I had to say goodbye to my dearly beloved, Shirley, the MacBook Pro. (Camera = the fun one = Laverne; Computer = all business = Shirley! Hahaaaa!) Shirley is about 7 years old and as we all know, in computer years, that practically made her a dinosaur! LOL. In fact, the Apple store employees seemed torn between laughing at me/her and staring at her in awe and reverence simply for the fact that she hadn't quit working yet! She still works but only at a glacial pace (haha!) so at least she isn't gone-gone, but it was time to let her go. {sniff-sniff} If you peek at twitter or instagram, you can see her replacement......I'll have to think of a name. Big Bertha fits her size and yet it just doesn't have that glam-effect that a computer so pretty as this one deserves! ;) I'll have to think on it....Feel free to post your suggestions!
Hope you're having a wonderful day! Lots of crafty posts coming soon. It's almost time for the Stamp Designer Showcase, the next Make It Market kit and the Senior Design Team Challenge! Stay tuned!
