Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey August Countdown and this month, I've got two new Raspberry Suite stamp sets to introduce you to -- Tick Tock and Birthday Classics: September, plus today, I also get to help showcase a couple of new sets by Nichole Heady -- Autumn Adornments and Keep it Simple: Thanksgiving!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
First up, are Nichole's new sets......I used both Autumn Adornments and Keep It Simple: Thanksgiving on this card. The flourish at the top and the the vine at the bottom of the card are both from Autumn Adornments, as well as the gorgeous "Thanksgiving Blessings" sentiment at the top.
I pulled out my old More Mustard ink pad from Stampin' Up! and stamped the flourish at the top. The "Thanksgiving Blessings" was stamped with canyon clay ink. I followed that up with two "Happy Thanksgiving" sentiments from Keep it Simple: Thanksgiving in terracotta tile as well as two stamped in dark chocolate ink.
The vine at the bottom was stamped with More Mustard ink (Stampin' Up!) and the edges of the leaves were rolled in canyon clay ink. I then stamped the little pumpkins (in the spaces provided on the vine stamp!) using canyon clay ink, as well as some more mini leaves in terracotta tile ink. I LOVE this vine image because you can customize it several different ways and so easily! I'll show you more in a bit....
I added a strip of vintage book print and some canyon clay striped paper behind the focal panel and put it all on a terracotta tile card base. A couple of dark chocolate buttons threaded with chocolate baker's twine, finished things off.
This fun card was created with another of the images from Autumn Adornments. It's kind of a "corner" image (I'll show you on the next card) that I stamped four times with hawaiian shores ink, to sort of create a 'square'. Then, I stamped it four more times with new leaf ink, moving the image slightly outward from the hawaiian shores layer each time, and then I did it one more time with ripe avocado ink, shifting the image slightly outward again.
I added an aqua mist button to the center, that was threaded with some rustic cream button twine.
The "Thankful for you" sentiment is from Autumn Adornments and it was stamped in new leaf ink, followed by the "Happy Thanksgiving" image from Keep It Simple: Thanksgiving, in ripe avocado ink.
Who says all Thanksgiving cards have to be orange and brown and rust??? ;)
Ok, so here's a better look at the image I used to create the previous card and this time, I paired it with my new Tick Tock stamp set!!!
As you can see, the dotted image from Autumn Adornments creates a bit of a square, only this time, instead of positioning the corner point toward the center and stamping four times, I placed it toward the outside and stamped four times, creating a frame around the cuckoo clock.
And how about that cuckoo clock?!! GAH! This toooootally reminds me of our first ever trip to Europe back in 2005....we saw lots and LOTS of cuckoo clocks in Switzerland!! Cuckoo clocks are just so charming, aren't they? I was pretty mesmerized walking into shops with hundreds of them hanging on the walls!! All of that tick tocking (!) and when the little birds pop out?!....adorable! I couldn't resist recreating a bit of that charm for our card creations, with this stamp set!
I used the coordinating Tick Tock dies to cut out the clock and the little birds. The really FUN thing about the die is that it cuts the little door portion at the top! You can choose to open the doors by simply folding them open (and therefore, you stamp the little shutters on the BACK side of the clock die cut. OR, you can leave the doors closed and add separate little die cut shutters to the front of the clock, on either side of the "window".
You can also stamp little die cut birds and position them in the window or on various points around the cuckoo clock, or you can even stamp a bird on a layer behind the die cut window, instead of using a die cut bird! There are lots of options with this set, and of course, lots of options for adding a variety of colors!!
In this case, I stamped the clock in dark chocolate ink (because that's the most like all the clocks I remember seeing in Switzerland!) and then stamped the shutters and clock face in raspberry fizz ink. The die cut birds were stamped with pure poppy ink.
I used the heart border die, to add a strip of raspberry fizz scallops to the bottom of the card and then stamped two sentiments from Tick Tock, using dark chocolate ink.
One more for you today......this one pairs Nichole's Autumn Adornments, with my new Birthday Classics: September. The thing I love about this card is that you could totally give it to a man or a woman. Masculine cards can be so hard at times, can't they? But these sets make it easy!
The leaf vine here, was stamped with canyon clay ink and the edges of the leaves were rolled in terracotta tile ink. Then, I went back in and stamped the little acorns in the appropriate spaces, with dark chocolate ink. Um, how cute are those acorns?!
The sentiment, from Birthday Classics: September, was stamped once in dark chocolate ink, and then a second time in terracotta tile ink. The bottom portion of the terracotta tile image was cut out and adhered right over the top of the first one.
All right, my friends, I'm off for now, but I hope you've enjoyed today's projects!
You'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols, Danielle Flanders, Laurie Willison and Betsy Veldman for lots more sneak peeks. Erin Lincoln, Lexi Daly, and Lizzie Jones will have peeks at their new products as well.
Tomorrow, I'll be back with lots more Tick Tock and Birthday Classics: September cards, so I hope you'll join me!
