Hiiii, Friends!
It's time for the Papertrey October Countdown and this month, I'm happy to share the newest Birthday Classics set with you.....Birthday Classics: November. I also get the privelege of helping to introduce a new set to you today, designed by Nichole Heady, called Painted Poinsettias and oh my Lordy bees, is it a beauty! I have had sooooo much fun playing with this one! Let's kick things off with some Painted Poinsettias.....
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on October 15 at 10pm EST.
This first card just makes me SMILE! Last year, in November or December, Bartley and I went to the nursery. I hadn't ever been to a nursery in the winter, and I honestly expected it to be a bit of a ghost town. I've only ever been in the spring, and I really didn't know what they would even be selling in the winter, but I thought it'd be fun to go see. So, off we went to the nursery, camera in tow just in case, and low and behold.....we walked in to a SEAAAAA of poinsettias!! Pink ones and white ones and red ones and burgundy ones and coral ones......they were amazing! I was a bit in awe of how much beauty was all around us and I loved seeing SO many different varieties of poinsettias too! So it was with thoughts of the nursery in mind, that I created these poinsettia cards, not feeling like I had to stamp every single flower in red!
I started out with a piece of white card stock, that I just cut to be 1/4" shorter than my card base. I stamped it with all of the flowers, leaves and sentiment and then cut it just above and just below the sentiment. Then, I adhered the top and bottom sections to the card base, lining them up with the top and bottom of the card. All that was left to do was to adhere the center panel in between the two. FUN!
Next up, I have a fun little trio for you.....I used the Basic Bookmark dies to create a pair of Christmas-y bookmarks and a coordinating gift tag! This way, I can give the gift of books with a holiday bookmark tucked inside, and can tie the coordinating gift tag on the package once it's all wrapped up!
Here are some closer shots of the bookmarks and tag.....
This makes me super excited to read a book, tucked in front of the fireplace, with a pretty Christmas bookmark sticking out of my book this winter!
Next up, I used the Painted Poinsettia dies with the stamps to create these layered poinsettias. The white scalloped border was cut with the heart border die.
The flowers were stamped with berry sorbet, pure poppy and scarlet jewel inks with summer sunrise centers. The leaves were stamped with spring moss, simply chartreuse and ripe avocado inks.
Both of the elements of the sentiment are from Painted Poinsettias as well.
One more Poinsettia card for today.....this one pairs the poinsettias with a new set of dies from this release (details on Nichole Heady's blog!)! How fun are THEY?! That "MERRY" is two die cut layers that were cut from pure poppy and raspberry fizz card stocks. Good grief, I kinda love them! I paired them with the "Christmas" sentiment from Painted Poinsettias, by masking off the word "cheer" (as seen on the card at the top of this post).
The flower was die cut from raspberry fizz card stock and stamped with raspberry fizz, pure poppy and scarlet jewel inks. I stamped most of the leaves directly on the card base, but also added one die cut leaf for a bit of added dimension.
And now, how about a Birthday Classics: November card? :)
This card is truly so simple to create and it could easily work for a man OR a woman....I paired the largest sentiment from Birthday Classics: November with a few leaves from Meadow Greens.
The leaves at the top were stamped with terracotta tile ink, not reinking before stamping the softer ones, and the bottom leaves were stamped in canyon clay. I stamped the little flag image from Birthday Classics: November, on a separate piece of card stock and trimmed it out with scissors before popping it on the card front with a bit of foam adhesive.
All righty, I'm off for now, but you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Melissa Phillips & Ashley Cannon Newell for lots more sneak peeks. Erin Lincoln, Melissa Bickford, Lexi Daly and Betsy Veldman will have peeks at their new sets as well.
I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! I'll see you back here tomorrow!
