It was that time of the month again. Time to take baby bump pictures of my sister and her little crew. Technically, with all that we had going on in October with our sister, Diann, having a baby and our brother getting married and my huge yearly work deadline, we were a bit late with this month's pictures but I'm OH-SO GLAD we were because the day we went......the trees!!.....the leaves!!......the LIGHT! It was all so gorgeous! I seriously couldn't have asked for a more perfect set-up for a photo shoot!
Baby girl is now the size of a pomegranate! And yes, the baby girl shopping has officially begun. Who can resist baby girl clothes and shoes?! I'd show you pictures, but my sister has to wait awhile to get these baby gifts, so they'll have to remain a surprise for awhile longer. It's ok. I'll keep adding to the collection in the meantime. ;)
My sister is so gorgeous, isn't she?
These photo shoots are much more lively these days, now that this boy is getting close to turning two! He's on the gooooo! Thankfully I have a really great assistant named Uncle Bart, that chases him around when he's not needed in photos! Haha.
And the rest of the time, he's trying to get Benji's attention or get him to look my way. The photo above went something like this....
"Benji, can you hold this for Auntie Dawn?"
"Wait, stand right here by mama and daddy."
"Benji, wait! Come here!"
"Ok, well....can you take it to Auntie Dawn? Take this and give it to Auntie Dawn"
Meanwhile, Auntie Dawn is frantically snapping photos as fast as her fingers can fly, hoping to catch a good one in there somewhere! lol.
And here's how the photo above went. Benji wasn't actually needed for this series of shots we get each month. So Uncle B was walking around with him, and they ended up behind the stand of trees. Then, I hear Uncle B yell....
"Dawn, get ready with your camera....he's coming your way!"
To which I replied, "I'm ready but don't step out from behind the trees or you'll be in the shot too!"
To which he replied, "I won't!"
Hahaha. And again, Auntie D snaps away like a crazy person! But just look at that little stinker! I love this shot!
And the above shot looks so sweet and peaceful, right? In the interest of "keepin' it rill", here's how we got this one....
"Benji, can you sit up here like a big boy?"
"Don't move. Sit right here."
"No, you can't get down just yet. Wait right here!"
"Benji, look at Auntie Dawn! Where's Auntie Dawn?"
"No, don't grab the frame. Leave it there for now. Good job!"
"Wait, look at Auntie!"
"Hey Benji, can you give mama a kiss?"
Aaaaaand, we got it. Golden! And it wasn't even the shot we were going for! Hahaha.
And this one was snagged by saying, "Show Auntie Dawn your teeth!!" He's happy to show his little chompers off, apparently! :)
These two shots (above and below) are what he does when he gets tickled with himself and I nearly bust out laughing every time he does it!!! Cutest thing ever!!
Oh, this boy. He has our hearts, for sure. I know this was supposed to be about the baby bump, but I got so many great shots of Benji this month, that I just couldn't resist sharing!
We take these photos at the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. The grounds outside -- as you can see -- are just gorgeous. And if they happen to be open while we're there, we always have to pop inside for a few photos. The room below is my faaaavorite. Isn't it GORGEOUS?! You can order food and eat in here, when their little cafe is open.
And of course, we have to say hello to the Monet....I wish the camera could accurately capture just how gorgeous this painting is in real life.
And then it was time for bye-bye kisses. Benji was a tad distracted. haha!
Oh, my heart......
When we were leaving, I handed the camera to Bartley to grab a few shots. I love these.
Two sisters, one little boy.....and two brothers-in-law following along behind. ;) Another successful baby bump photo shoot in the books. And also, maybe only 4 more of these and that baby girl will BE here!
Happy sigh...
