Hi there!
Time for one more Papertrey Group Post! Today we're featuring another stamp designed by Nichole Heady that I happen to la-hove! (That's LOVE, in case you weren't sure!) It's called Cuppa Love and it was inspired by vintage Fire King pottery, which I happen to have a thing for!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on November 15 at 10pm EST.
I just bought this set of Fire King cups and saucers at an antiques fair when we were at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, back in August! Aren't they so fun?! I was so excited to find so many of them all together!
So for our assignment for this post, we were supposed to make two cards -- one shaped and one regular. However, I ended up making four cards using Cuppa Love and pairing it with anything and everything! Haha. It's just so CUTE!
So first, the shaped card. I cut and folded a regular card and ran it through the Vagabond with the Cuppa Love cup die sticking up slightly over the top edge (the fold) of the card, so that the die wouldn't cut the fold, but it cut everything else. It cut through both layers almost perfectly....I just had to pull the back layer apart a smidge more than I did the front layer.
I stamped 3 of the flower & leaf images from Cuppa Love on the front of the mug with new leaf and hawaiian shores inks and then added the "Get well wishes" from Keep It Simple: Get Well, just under the flowers. Lastly, I used another of the Cuppa Love dies to cut out that cute little tag and stamped it with one of the Cuppa Love sentiments. I tied it on with a bit of baker's twine and simply taped the twine on the back side of the card.
Next up, I die cut the cup from aqua mist card stock and adhered it to a white card base.
I used new leaf and hawaiian shores inks again, and stamped several more images from Cuppa Love to turn this medallion into a large flower.
I added another of the Cuppa Love sentiments along the bottom of the cup, and before it was adhered to the card front, I impressed the card with the woodgrain impression plate.
Next up, I paired Cuppa Love with Holiday Thanks! Again, this is a fairly quick and easy card that you could whip up several of, to use as thank yous this year!
The flowers and leaves from Cuppa Love were stamped at the top of the mug and the card base was embossed using the Cover Plate: Quatrefoil die.
I used three sentiment components from Holiday Thanks here.
This time, I paired Cuppa Love with A Cheerful Heart! I die cut the mug and cut the pedestal portion off the bottom to make it a bit shorter.
I stamped the leaves from Cuppa Love at the top of the cup and then on berry sorbet card stock, I stamped a flower and cut it out, adhering it to the top of the mug. I also tied a bit of cotton twine on the mug's handle.
I used the extra Cuppa Love die to cut out the berry sorbet portion and stamped it with a verse from A Cheerful Heart, and then stamped the little "Don't stress" (also from A Cheerful Heart) on the mug.
One more before I go.....had to make a Birthday Classics: December card with a bit of a masculine twist!
I used Peaceful Pinecones to stamp the pinecones all around the card, inking the branches with ripe avocado and tropical teal inks. The sentiment from Birthday Classics: December was stamped in dark chocolate ink, with a separate strip stamped in pure poppy and adhered with foam adhesive.
All right, my friends, that's it for me today, but I hope you've had fun! Be sure to check out everyone else's Cuppa Love projects! You won't want to miss a single one!
