Hi there!
Welcome back for another Papertrey Group Post! Today is a fun one, because we're showcasing a couple of new stamp sets for the little ones in our lives. Firstly, a stamp set designed by Nichole Heady, called Secret Agent, as well as a set by Lexi Daly called Zappy Birthday. Let's kick things off with my Secret Agent card.
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on January 15 at 10pm EST.
How cute is that little secret agent man?!! So darn cute! And he's super fast and easy to stamp because he comes in just two pieces -- his coat is one stamp and the rest of him is another.
This set is not only so darn cute, but it's pretty clever too! Your littles are going to LOVE the "secret messages" you can create with this set, particularly when you create secret decoders to go with!
I'm getting a little ahead of myself.....wink! To start things off, I die cut some hawaiian shores card stock with my Edgers #5 dies to create a super fun secret agent file folder card! The "top secret" label as well as the "confidential" stamp are just a couple of the very "official" looking secret agent stamps included in the set -- all of which work PERFECTLY with the Edgers #5 dies!
Check out the photo above! Do you see what's happening with the sentiment in the magnifying glass?! I used the magnifying glass dies to cut out two magnifying glasses, as well as two pieces of acetate -- one clear and one in the new red color that Papertrey will be carrying! I stamped my sentiment pieces in hawaiian shores ink on a white layer that is behind the clear "glass" circle. Then, I stamped the "scrambler" image over the top of the sentiment in pure poppy ink.
Here's what it looks like up close....you can see that there's a layer of clear card stock over the top of the white card stock inside the magnifying glass.
And here's what it looks like when you lay the red "magnifying glass" over the top!! The scrambler image disappears (because it's stamped in the same color as the red acetate) and the sentiment becomes very visable! I'll tuck the "secret decoder" magnifying glass inside the card, so that the recipient can decode the message for himself! How fun is that?!
Next up, is a card featuring the new Zappy Birthday set. It's another fun one for kiddos, particularly those that like comics! I decided to make mine with a girly color scheme.
I used a piece of patterned paper from the new Zappy Birthday patterned paper pad, to serve as the background.
I stamped the two "Zappy Birthday!" sentiments directly on the polka dot layer, with smokey shadow and raspberry fizz inks. The Zappy Birthday dies were used to cut out all of the other elements from white, raspberry fizz and summer sunrise card stock and then they were stamped with coordinating images from the Zappy Birthday stamp set.
I have a couple more cards to share with you before I go, featuring my new Raspberry Suite stamp sets, including this Cable Gram card! I started out with a white card base on which I blended berry sorbet and fine linen inks to create a nice, softly colored background. It reminds me of a really pretty sunset.
Next, I die cut the Cover Plate: Chinatown from both kraft and berry sorbet card stock. I popped the berry sorbet pieces into the roof details on the buildings, while keeping all of the buildings themselves, in kraft card stock. I added an extra row of berry sorbet lanterns along the top of the card, that I trimmed off the berry sorbet die cut.
Lastly, I used the Cable Gram stamps and die to create the cable car. I die cut the car from berry sorbet card stock and heat embossed the outline with white embossing powder. The two 'sentiment' signs from Cable Gram, were stamped with smokey shadow ink. I added a row of kraft lanterns to the cable car, and then topped them with some fun little gems.
Last one for today.....here is a simple card you can create in just a few minutes (and in a million different color combos!).
I embossed the Monthly Moments: Journal Card 2 on some aqua mist card stock, creating an embossed frame for my birthday tag.
This oval tag from 2015 Birthday Tags was stamped twice, once in melon berry and once in berry sorbet. I simply trimmed off half of the melon berry layer, and adhered it over the top of the berry sorbet layer with foam adhesive. It's layered on a white scalloped oval that was die cut with a Limitless Layers: 2 1/4" oval die. It's quite a simple card, but it has lots of texture because of all the layers and dimension.
All right, my friends.....I'm gonna run, but you'll want to be sure to check out everyone else's Secret Agent posts!
