Hi there!
It's Day 3 of the Papertrey anniversary festivities and already, we have a Group Post for you!! I'm super excited about this one, because the whole team is showcasing a new monthly series I've designed for 2015, called Enclosed! This series was designed to allow you to create super cute -- and easy -- gift tags for nearly any occasion! You can also use these items to create your own little enclosure cards to tuck in with gifts. Firstly, there is the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag Die and each month, there will also be an Enclosed stamp set as well as a set of coordinating Enclosed dies! For this month, I'm thrilled to bring you the Enclosed: Flower stamps and dies! The die set consists of a basic solid shape -- this month, a flower -- as well as a frame/word die that can be layered over the top of the basic shape. And both of those, can then be adhered to the front of the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag Die! Each month, the stamps and dies will be different but they will all coordinate perfectly with the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag Die, so you can create gift tags galore! And not only that, but these stamps and dies will also work beautifully on cards -- you knew they would, right? *wink!* And you can use the dies together or individually, to suit your individual design needs. That means that you'll get a lot of bang for your buck, from this new series. And the best part? The stamps are only $5 each month! Woohoo!
All of that being said, I am over the moon to have this be a Group Post day, because that means that all of the designers on the team, are showcasing the Enclosed stamps and dies! They've each got a gift tag AND a card to share with you, which should give you TONS of ideas as to how you can use these new goodies, once you get them in your hot little hands! :)
How about if we get on to some projects?!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on February 15 at 10pm EST.
First up, I've got a quick and easy gift tag for you, showing you the basics of this collection. The pure poppy layer, uses the frame/word die and the raspberry fizz layer behind it, uses the basic flower shape die. They are sold together in the Enclosed: Flower die set. The "You make me" sentiment is one from the Enclosed: Flower stamp set.
I used a cute gift bag from Target, tied on some ribbon and tulle from my stash and added the gift tag! Voila!
Here, you can see the back side of the flower, where I've attached a tag that was die cut with the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag die. I punched out a hole at the top of the tag so that I could tie it onto my gift, but you certainly don't have to do that, if you'd prefer to use this as an enclosure card, rather than a tag. The "To:" and "From:" are also stamps from the Enclosed: Flower stamp set.
Next up is a card for you, showcasing the stamps from the stamp set! I started out with a piece of aqua mist card stock that I die cut with the Enclosed: Flower die and then I stamped it with two of the flower petal shading images included in the stamp set. I stamped the larger shading image in hawaiian shores and the smaller in new leaf.
The "Smile" circle from Enclosed: Flower, was stamped on white card stock and punched out with a 3/4" circle punch. I also used the Leave It Be dies, to add the die cut leaf peeking out from behind the flower.
On the card base, I stamped the companion sentiment from Enclosed: Flower, to finish the sentiment..."Smile You Won't Regret It". After stamping, I ran the card front through the vagabond with the Picnic Plaid impression plate.
Next up are some more gift tags....for these, I started out by die cutting two frame/words and two flowers, all from stamper's select white card stock. There is a large flower petal image included in the set, which you'll be able to see a little easier in a bit, but I stamped that large petal first, five times, all the way around the flower. In the photo above, that's the aqua mist and sweet blush bit you can see around the edges of the flower. Next, I stamped the petal shading images -- hawaiian shores and new leaf on the left and berry sorbet and pure poppy on the right. For a change of pace here, I turned the "Smile" circle stamp (used for the flower center) over and stamped the back of the image onto the tags, so I could have a solid circle rather than the one that says smile. That way, I could layer the die cut smile over the top.
NOTE: If you do this trick and stamp with the back of the circle, I recommend stamping the front side (with the "Smile" on it) first. Stamp all your flower petals and then go back and flip the "Smile" circle over and stamp it again to cover up the word "Smile". The base of the circle is just a bit larger than the actual circle image, so it's a bit easier to line up all your petals if you start out with the right side, rather than starting out with a circle center that's a tad larger.
Behind each of the flowers, are some more Leave It Be die cut leaves that were attached to the back side of the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag. They were die cut from simply chartreuse and new leaf card stock and were stamped with simply chartreuse/tropical teal and new leaf/tropical teal inks and the Leave It Be stamp set. A bit of black baker's twine was used to tie them on.
Below is a peek at the back side of the flower and the inside of the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag.....you can also see here, how the leaves were attached to the back side of the tag. Again, I punched a hole in the tag, but you could skip that step if you'd prefer.
Ok, how about one more card for today.....
This is nearly a one-layer card.....this one shows you more clearly, what I was talking about earlier, when I said there is a large petal image as well as two shading images for the flowers. The flower on the left shows the large petals stamped in sweet blush ink, followed by the shading images in raspberry fizz and pure poppy. The flower center is stamped in summer sunrise ink. The nice thing about these images though, is that you don't have to use that largest petal image if you don't want to. Note that the other two flowers on the card, use only the shading images!! Handy, right? :) This allows you to create what looks like two different types of flower, from just one little $5 stamp set!
TIP: It is generally easier to stamp the flower center and then you can easily line up the petal/shading images all the way around. NOTE that the largest shading image was meant to overlap a bit, with the petal next to it, creating another bit of shading detail! You can see this really well on the limeade ice flower in the lower right corner. See how the petals overlap a little, creating a darker bit of ink between the smallest shading images?
The sentiment was made up of two stamps from Enclosed: Flower and they're stamped in smokey shadow ink.
All right, friends....that's all I've got for you today, but I hope you'll join me again tomorrow for lots more countdown fun! In the meantime, go check out the other girls' Enclosed projects!!! You won't want to miss any of them!
