I have a couple of cards to show you using the Lovely Laurels mini kit goodies, one quite simple and one a bit more involved. For this first card, I used one of the pre-printed papers that comes in the kit -- the laurel wreath and "Just for You" were already printed. I stamped the "on your anniversary" from the Lovely Laurels stamp set, in berry sorbet ink.
I also used a Lovely Laurels die to cut out the leaves on the wreath and fluffed them forward a bit. I die cut and stamped a bow using the Lovely Laurels stamps and dies, and added that to the bottom of the wreath.
The colors on this next one might look a little crazy because of how shiny the leaves are -- they're a little hard to photograph! But in real life, the colors here are so fresh and green and springy!
I stamped the laurel wreath on fresh snow linen card stock, using new leaf ink. Next, I added some of the little leaves from the Lovely Laurels mini kit, and then stamped one of the little floral images with tropical teal ink. I also stamped the "Just for You" in the center of the wreath.
At the bottom of the focal panel, I added a couple strips of Lovely Laurels patterned papers and stamped "on your birthday" from the stamp set on one of them. I also used the stamps and dies, to add the little teal bird. And of course, the whole panel was adhered to the front of a tropical teal card base.
Of course I couldn't leave you without a couple more for today......ooh, this one makes me smile! I used the new cream linen card stock for this one. I stamped the flower images from Enclosed: Flower using new leaf, hawaiian shores and tropical teal inks -- I love that you can see the criss-cross of the linen texture on the petals!
I punched out a circle of tropical teal card stock with a 3/4" circle punch and added it to the flower center and then -- brace yourself -- I cut the whole stamped flower in half! I was a little scared -- I'm not gonna lie! Hahaha! BUT, I LOOOOVE what I was able to do with it! I stamped a sentiment from Tucked In: Mother on the card base and then popped up the two halves of the flower with foam adhesive. All that was left to do, was trim the ends of the flower layer off with the edge of the card base.
I'm afraid to tell you that all the "smooshing" that's been going on around here by Laura Bassen and Betsy Veldman, has left me with a bit of an itch to do a little ink smooshing myself! I dabbed four ink pads on a large stamp block (hawaiian shores, new leaf, summer sunrise and limeade ice), spritzed the whole block with water and then smooshed it onto some white card stock. The result is a very marble-y, watercolored look.
On top of the colored panel, I added an Enclosed: Flower die cut from white card stock, and stamped one of the companion sentiments in hawaiian shores ink. I think I might be doing a bit more smooshing in the days to come, thanks to the inspiration from my clever team mates! ;)
All right, since today's a group post day, you've got a lot of stops to make, for tons of inspiration! Have fun!
