Hi there!
Time for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, we're highlighting several new goodies including the Seeds of Knowledge stamp set and dies, Pencil Blooms dies and the Pint Size Wrap dies designed by Erin Lincoln! Papertrey will also be carrying pint size containers, which the dies coordinate with, so there is LOTS for you to see today! Let's get right to it!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on April 15 at 10pm EST.
Nichole asked us to find a photo to serve as our inspiration for today's assignment and below is mine....
I love the COLORS (you're not surprised, are you?) and I love those colors mixed with the bright white and the darker wood. So that's what I chose to use as inspiration for this little group of projects!
To start things off, let me show you a little pencil bouquet I made with Erin's new Pencil Blooms dies and a mixture of felt and card stock flowers. How fun are those?!! You literally just die cut the flowers and pop them on the ends of pencils! Couldn't be easier! I even took regular old number 2 pencils and painted them with acrylic paint, so I could have pencils to coordinate with my inspiration photo! I totally have to paint more pencils.....it was so fun and kinda relaxing in a weird sort of way, and I LOVE how they turned out! Pencils in any color you want.....why have I never thought of this before?!
I tied a little bit of new leaf twill ribbon on each pencil, to serve as little leaves under the flowers.
Now, I used a vintage Fiesta pitcher for my 'vase' but if you're giving your pencil bouquet as a gift, you could use any vase of your choosing. You could also make a gazillion more pencils than my half-dozen Totally up to you. I tied on a tag though, made with the Enclosed: Apple dies. UM......swoon! The main apple was cut from dark chocolate card stock and then run through the vagabond with the woodgrain impression plate, to mimic that woodgrain in the inspiration photo. If you don't have the woodgrain impression plate yet, it's been a mainstay in my studio ever since it came out. Might be time to bump it up on your list! Haha! Topping the main apple, is the "Thanks" frame die cut. Here's a tip for you. I die cut it from tropical teal felt, as you can see, but to help that felt keep it's shape, I also die cut a tropical teal card stock layer. I glued the felt layer to the card stock layer, before glueing the whole thing to the dark chocolate layer. Just makes it easier to maintain the shape of the "Thanks".
Next up is a card I made with the new Seeds of Knowledge stamp set and dies.
The circle layer was stamped with dark chocolate ink and the little swirl with aqua mist ink, to serve as water coming out of the watering can. The little frame and watering can are both from Seeds of Knowledge.
At the bottom of the card, I stamped a few more images and two sentiments from Seeds of Knowledge, using tropical teal, new leaf, summer sunrise and dark chocolate inks.
On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from Tucked In: Thank You as well as a few more little elements from Seeds of Knowledge, to coordinate with the card front.
Here's a shot of the top of the new pint container I decorated! There are Pint Container Dies that allow you to cut out a circle to decorate the top of the lid and if you cut two of the 'sides', they go all the way around the container. Instead of using the circle on top though, I used an Enclosed: Apple!! Perfect fit!! Fill this baby up with the treat of your choice (candy, cookies, gift card, nail polishes, you name it!) and you're set!
To coordinate with the tag on my Pencil Bouquet, I die cut another dark chocolate apple and used the woodgrain impression plate on it again, and this time topped it with a tropical teal card stock "Thanks". The little flowers and leaves are from Seeds of Knowledge. That little button (or whatever it is -- haha!) is one that I found in my dark chocolate buttons. :)
On the tropical teal container wrap, I simply stamped more Seeds of Knowledge flowers with tropical teal ink and wrapped the two pieces around the container, securing them with scor-tape. Lastly, let's talk about that tag!! The circle image from Seeds of Knowledge fits PERFECTLY on an Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag die cut! How cute is that?! And the circular sentiment in the middle, fits perfectly on a Limitless Layers: 1-3/4" circle die. The flowers and swirl are more from Seeds of Knowledge, cut from tropical teal and new leaf card stock. I simply punched a little hole in the back portion of the tag and tied it around the treat container lid with chocolate baker's twine!
And now, how about a couple Lunchbox Love cards? Here's one for your little sports dude!
I stamped 4 different sentiments from Lunchbox Love here -- that's the nice thing about these sentiments....you can use just one or several to create custom sentiments for your specific card needs! Again on this card, "Bud" is a separate stamp, so if you don't call your kid "Bud", you don't have to use it. (That's what we called my brother when he was really little.) :)
I stamped footballs from Football Frenzy on the soft stone layer, with versamark ink, so they'd be nice and subtle. The helmet, also from Football Frenzy, was stamped with smokey shadow and pure poppy inks. And peeking out the bottom, is a bit of the basic bookmark #1 die cut.
One more Lunchbox Love card for you.....this funny little dude from Secret Agent looks pretty cute holding his giant pencil from the new Pencil Me In stamp set! :) Pair him with the sentiment from Lunchbox Love, and you've got a great little reminder for your kiddo to work hard and do his best!
I stamped his shirt in new leaf ink to match the sentiment and pencil eraser. The pencil itself, is stamped in hawaiian shores ink to match the card base and the whole thing was stamped on one of the new Pencil Me In patterned papers.
Ok friends, I've gotta run but the rest of the team has a ton to show you today, so be sure to stop by each one!
