Hey there,
So I'm back with the third card in my little "smooshed series"! When I sat down to do these, I went ahead and pre-cut some pieces of watercolor card stock to use....that way, I could position the ink wherever I wanted it, for different placement of focal points. For this card, I kept all of the "smooshing" to the center of the card stock, knowing I wanted to place these black-eyed susans more in the middle, since this particular die cut is smaller than the other two I used for the other two cards.
Again, I smooshed ink onto some watercolor card stock using Betsy's MIM tutorial from a few weeks back. For the watercolor bit here, I used a couple of Tim Holtz colors and then stamped the flowers in summer sunrise and smokey shadow inks.
For the leaves/stems, I stamped the leaf image with new leaf ink. Next up, I stamped the stems with hawaiian shores ink and then again right over the top of that, with new leaf ink again. It gives the stems a slightly different tone so they stand out just a bit from the leaves, without them being super dark (like if I'd used ripe avocado ink, or the like).
The flowers and sentiments are all from Flower Favorites and tucked behind the watercolor card stock, is some vellum dotted paper. The card base is a piece of summer sunrise card stock.
I hope this little series has inspired you to give smooshing a try.....you'll have fun, I'm tellin' ya! :)
ETA: Just realized I forgot to include the photo of all three cards together.....I love them all in a heap! So much color!
Thanks for dropping by!
