Hey there!
Happy May Day! Spring is in full swing over here and I am loving every minute of it! Spring has a way of bringing with it so much color and color makes me HAPPY! Goodness, I'm quite content in the winter, what with all the joys that winter brings but spring is a different thing altogether! I can't even put into words how happy it makes me just to take a trip to the nursery to see all of the different colors and textures in all those different plants! I come away so filled up and inspired! And then to bring some of those gorgeous colors and textures home?? LOVE. Such a blessing. I'm just in awe. Every day, I walk from room to room, looking out the window at whatever flowers and plants I can see from that window and and then the next, soaking it all in. God is GOOD and He's an amazing designer and nothing inspires me more than His use of COLOR!
So, I promise I've got more to share with you today, than just my love of Spring (haha!). We have another order of business to take care of! It's the first of the month, which means it's time for the Senior Team Challenge at Papertrey! This month, we're focusing on Bitty Baby Blessings which is one of those stamp sets that just never goes out of style when it comes to baby cards! And I had so much fun pairing it with some florals for today's creations! What could be sweeter than some sweet little floral baby cards, especially if one has a little floral onesie?! :)
Here are the pair of cards I whipped up to share with you. Don't you just love color coordination?!!!! I wish I could insert a big old cheesy grin here, because I tend to get teased with some regularity about my tendency toward color coordination. I kinda can't help it.....it just sort of happens. I'll get to church and a greeter (guy!) at the front door will comment on how my purse matches my outfit. And then I'll get inside and the girls will comment on how my nails match my purse or how my cardigan matches my nails. And then I'll get home and realize at the end of the day, that it all coordinated with my undies! LOL! I don't do it on purpose.....color coordination just makes me happy and apparently I do it subconsciously quite often! Hahaha. Anyway, enough about me.....You already know I have issues! :)
For this first card, I just used one large flower from Rosie Posie and stamped it repeatedly with some lavender moon ink. Over the top of that, I stamped some Polka Dot Basics II with soft stone ink, being careful to ink up the stamp quickly and sloppily so that I wouldn't get complete coverage. I wanted this layer to be super soft and subtle.
Over that, I added a strip of some lace trim (Hobby Lobby) and stamped the "welcome little one" sentiment from Bitty Baby Blessings, using smokey shadow ink. I pulled out my Boutique Borders: Baby stamps and dies, to stamp the little sentiment frame and then added another sentiment from Bitty Baby Blessings. Lastly, I added a little baby carriage, die cut from lavender moon bitty dot paper!
For this card, I layered a strip of striped vellum on a lavender moon card base and stamped the teeny elephant from Bitty Baby Blessings in the corner, with some Stampin' Up! ink.
I die cut a mat stack 4 label from white card stock and then die cut the Fillable Frames #7 die from the center of it, creating a white frame that I backed with lavender moon card stock. I die cut a couple of the onesies from Bitty Baby Blessings and stamped the white one with a couple of flowers from Rosie Posie and Rosie Posie Step 2. I topped the floral onesie with a sentiment from Bitty Baby Blessings.....I kinda want to make real onesies with those flowers on them!! How cute would that be?! Oooh...oooh.....what if the flower layers were die cut from two colors of felt and stitched on?! Gah. That'd be cute. Ok....that was another little side track. Haha.
Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed these bitty baby projects today! Be sure to visit the other girls on the Senior Team to see what they came up with!
