Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey June Countdown and this month, I'm happy to report that there are several new Raspberry Suite products coming your way! I've been a busy little bee and I have lots to show you so let's get right to it, shall we? :)
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15 at 10pm EST.
To kick things off, allow me to introduce you two a couple of new stamp sets....first up, Bloomers! Hahaaaa!! I love that name! It's "cheeky", no? (pun absolutely intended! HA!) I'm sorry if Bloomers makes you think of old-fashioned undies, but seriously....how cute is it for a flower set?! :)
So the thing with the Bloomers flowers is that there are three different sizes of flower and there are four layering stamps for each flower. You can choose to use all four, or you can just use two or three if you'd prefer. For these flowers, I just used two stamps per flower -- the main flower shape topped with a detail image. I also used the Bloomers Dies, to cut out two additional flowers which I popped up on top of the others.
The Bloomers stamp set does include a few sentiments of it's own, but here, I paired Bloomers with three sentiments from another of my new stamp sets from this release.....Scripted! Scripted contains several script-y sentiments as well as some smaller companion sentiments that can be mixed and matched to create custom sentiments of your own. There are also jumbo sized dies for the script-y words, which can also be used with the smaller companion sentiments. The jumbo dies do not coordinate with the script-y sentiments from the set though -- they're considerably larger than the stamp versions of the words to give you more design options. I'll be showing you plenty of peeks at the dies too, so stay tuned. ;)
So for this card, I paired the "Giving thanks" from Scripted, with two of the companion sentiments to create a birthday card. But you could just as easily leave off the "Birthday girl" stamp and just say "Giving thanks for you"! Options -- always a good thing!
And on the inside of the card, I stamped one of the two sentiments from the new Tucked In: Birthday stamp set! These stamps were designed to be used on the insides of cards, but you can easily use them on card fronts as well, if that's what you prefer.
Next up, I did a bit of watercolor "smooshing" here and over the top (once the watercolor was completely dry), I stamped a sentiment from Bloomers.
I used the Bloomers dies, to create the flower and as you can see, there are even dies for the images that go in the center of the flowers. Fun! Behind the flower are a few Leave It Be die cuts and peeking out from the side over there, is a bit of new patterned paper from Betsy Veldman -- see her blog and Nichole's blog for all the details!
Man, smooshing ink is just fun. :) The whole thing is layered on a kraft card base.
Ok, so for this card, you get a look at one of the new Scripted Dies used with one of the small companion sentiments from the Scripted stamp set.
I had a little plaid stamping session the other day, and just created a variety of plaid panels to use whenever I need them. This is a great way to get crafty even when you don't have a particular card in mind. Creating background papers is fun and relaxing and you'll be glad you have them on hand when you're ready to put a card together! I used Background Basics: Plaid Builder here.
For the Scripted die cut, I used my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors to simply wash some color back and forth over a piece of white card stock. When that was completely dry, I die cut the "Hello there" from the watercolored panel, with a Scripted Die! The watercolor creates such a pretty ombre effect!
And of course before I go, we have to talk about the newest Enclosed goodies -- allow me to introduce you to the Enclosed: Cupcake stamps and dies! This is a fun one, folks! And goodness me, these are soooo easy to use! I die cut the main cupcake base from dark chocolate card stock. Next, I die cut the "Celebrate" frame layer from hawaiian shores card stock and glued it to the dark chocolate layer. Then, I die cut the 'cupcake liner' from new leaf card stock and stamped it with the pleats image from Enclosed: Cupcake, with hawaiian shores ink and then adhered it to the other two layers.
I don't know if you can see it, but they cupcake liner die also adds some little 'scored' lines for the pleats, making it easy to just stamp the pleat stamps in between the scored pleats! In real life, it's super detailed looking! Yay!
Then, there are three different curved line images that you can use to create frosting detail. I stamped each one on the dark chocolate layer, with dark chocolate ink. These are also really easy to line up, because you just use the sides of the icing curves as your guide. Lastly, I die cut and stamped a little cherry and popped the whole thing on a basic bookmark #1 die cut, to create a jumbo tag!
Here's one more for you because the cupcake is so darn fun!
For this one, I left off the frame layer and just die cut the cupcake from rustic cream card stock and the cupcake liner from hibiscus burst card stock.
On the icing, I stamped the three icing detail lines with sweet blush ink. You can see a little better here, what I was talking about when I said you can just use the curves of the icing as your guide for where to stamp the detail lines. Just look at the curves on either side of the icing and stamp the line in between.
Then, I stamped the little "sprinkles" image over and over with hibiscus burst, raspberry fizz and pure poppy inks. You can add as many or as few sprinkles as you'd like, because the sprinkles stamp only has three little sprinkles on it. So if you only want sprinkles at the tip top of the cupcake, you can do that, or you can put them all over like I did here. When I got that done, I used a glue pen, to dab on glue in and around the sprinkles. I didn't want to completely cover them and dull their color, so I just dabbed the glue around them.
I also die cut a little candle, also from Enclosed: Cupcake, and stamped it with the coordinating candle image, in pure poppy ink.
In the above photo, you can also see a bit better, the score lines I was talking about, on the cupcake liner die. You just stamp the pleats in between the scored pleats for a realistic looking little cupcake liner!
Along the bottom of the card, I stamped the "Celebrate" from Enclosed: Cupcake and added some die cut border strips that were created with the heart border die.
Inside the card, I stamped the other of the two Tucked In: Birthday sentiments!
That's all I've got for you today, but I have lots more to share in the days ahead, so I hope you'll stop back by often! What do you think of everything so far? I'd love to hear from you!
Before you get off the computer, be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Maile Belles (she'll be sharing lots more with Bloomers & Scripted!), & Heather Nichols and Melissa Phillips for lots more sneak peeks. Betsy Veldman, Erin Lincoln, Lizzie Jones and Lexi Daly will have peeks at their new sets as well.
Thanks so much for dropping by!
See you tomorrow!
