Hey! Welcome back for Day 2 of the Papertrey June Countdown! Today, I get to help introduce you to one of Betsy Veldman's new stamp sets.....Stacked Statements!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on June 15 at 10pm EST.
I pulled out another of the plaid background papers I created the other day with Background Basics: Plaid Builder and popped it on a white card base.
Then, I die cut some white card stock with the Center Style: Feminine die and stamped several sentiments and images from Stacked Statements. The "Thanks" was stamped in hawaiian shores ink, followed by the little arrow details and "For everything" sentiment in new leaf ink. Lastly, I stamped a few little flowers and leaves from the set. You can really dress these Stacked Statements up any way you'd like, with all the little detail images included in the set.
For this card, I used a patterned paper and bit of rafia from Betsy's newest mini kit (see yesterday's post on Nichole Heady's blog for all the details) for the background.
Then, I die cut one of the Stacked Statements words from berry sorbet card stock and stamped it with pure poppy ink. I layered it on a Monthly Moments: Journal Card #2 die cut and then stamped the "Birthday" and "Dear Friend" from Stacked Statements, as well as more little flower and leaf images. To get that really soft green, I used new leaf ink and stamped it off once before stamping it on the white panel.
Inside the card, I stamped one of the new Tucked In: Birthday sentiments as well as more little Stacked Statements images to coordinate with the card front.
Next up, I created a fun watercolored background.
I die cut one of the Stacked Statements words from aqua mist card stock and stamped it with hawaiian shores ink. I layered it on a piece of vellum and stamped the "celebrate" from Stacked Statements with smokey shadow ink.
For the watercolored panel, I stamped Background Basics: Venice with versamark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then, I used a water brush and some Tim Holtz inks to fill in the spaces on the background. I love how it's a kind of messy, organic look....you can't be too fussy or perfect with it! At the bottom of the panel, is a bit of new leaf card stock as well as some striped vellum.
For this one, I heat embossed the "Hello" and "There" from Stacked Statements, with clear embossing powder and then "smooshed" some ink/water over it, to create a watercolored emboss resist look.
I used the Bloomers stamps and dies, to create the flowers and then stamped some of the little leaves from Stacked Statements, behind them once the watercolor was dry.
I also stamped the "Hello friend" from the Bloomers stamp set, in new leaf ink, once the watercolor was dry.
So I broke down and got some new watercolors (links below) and played around with them to create the background for this card. Wowza....this was fun!
Once the watercolor was completely dry, I stamped the sentiments from Scripted, using smokey shadow ink. While I was waiting for the ink to dry, I die cut and stamped some Bloomers flowers. You can see on the larger flower, that I used two of the dies for that flower, as well as four of the stamps. The very center was stamped with smokey shadow ink, the ring around that was stamped with tropical teal ink, and the detail lines behind that were stamped with hawaiian shores ink. The flower itself, was stamped in tropical teal. For the smaller flower, I used two dies, but only three of the stamps. It's fun to change up the look of each flower, just by how many dies and stamps you choose to use on each one!
The leaves were created with Leave It Be stamps and dies.
Here's another gift tag for you.....I put one of the new Enclosed: Cupcake die cuts on the Basic Bookmark #2 die.
I stamped the "Enjoy" from Enclosed: Cupcake, directly on the tag layer.
The two little candles have a bit of ombre inking on them, which I achieved by inking one half to the candle with either new leaf or tropical teal ink. Then, I used a sponge applicator, to dab on the other color on the opposite end of the candle. This blends the two colors seamlessly!
You can see that the main cupcake layer is die cut from aqua mist card stock and the icing details are stamped with hawaiian shores ink, followed by new leaf sprinkles. I added the tropical teal "Celebrate" die cut this time, so I only put sprinkles on the top two rows of icing.
The cupcake liner was die cut from hawaiian shores card stock and stamped with new leaf ink.
All righty, I'm off for now but I hope I've given you a bit of inspiration today! Do you have a favorite yet?
