Hey there!
Time for the first of our Papertrey Group Posts this month, and today, it's all about the weather! There are several really fun new weather-themed products coming out this month, including my new Enclosed: Sun stamps and dies. I've used those and some of the other new goodies as well, for today's cards, so let's get right to the fun stuff!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on July 15 at 10pm EST.
First up, is a sunny card for you! I used one of the luxe gold foil patterned papers and layered it on a harvest gold card base. I die cut the solid Enclosed: Sun die from harvest gold and used the coordinating circle die to cut out some orange zest bitty dot paper. Over the top of that, I used a snippet of white card stock and stamped one of the Enclosed: Sun companion sentiments, and then finished it off with some hawaiian shores card stock die cut with the new Sunshine Die, designed by Nichole Heady to coordinate with her previously released Hello Sunshine stamp set.
I love how well the Sunshine die cut paired with the Enclosed: Sun stamp to create a really sweet sentiment.
On the inside of the card, I used another piece of the Luxe Gold Foil patterned paper and stamped one of the new Tucked In: Thinking of You sentiments.....a perfect fit!
Next up is a rainy card.....I had so much fun making this one! I started out with Nichole's new Cover Plate: Rainy Day die and die cut some white card stock. I popped all of the rain drops out and used my Gansai watercolors and a water brush to add color to each drop. I kept the heaviest concentration of color at the bottom of each drop and dragged the watered down color up toward the top of each drop.
When they were dry, I used the die cut card stock as a guide and laid it over the top of a white card base. I popped each of the drops back in, adhering them in place. Then I picked up the die cut frame and adhered it back down with foam adhesive. Between the foam adhesive and the watercoloring, there is a ton of dimension here! Fun!
Nichole has also designed a new stamp set called Rainy Day Sentiments, to coordinate with this cover plate, and I used one of them here. I also pulled out my Scattered Showers stamp set and dies, and added a cute little umbrella to emphasize the theme.
I've got a few more sunny cards and tags to share with you before I go!
For this one, I die cut one of the gold adhesive sheets with the Enclosed: Sun "shine" die and then some aqua mist card stock with the solid sun die. I simply peeled the backing off the gold adhesive sheet and stuck it right to the solid sun and then stamped one of the companion sentiments from Enclosed: Sun, to finish off the sentiment.
The sun is layered on a hawaiian shores card base with a piece of the new Vintage Linens patterned paper and a strip of tropical teal card stock.
Inside the card, I added another sentiment from Tucked In: Thinking of You.
Next up is a little gift tag for you.....I die cut a solid sun from white card stock and the "shine" layer from orange zest card stock.
On the white layer, I stamped the points on the sun with summer sunrise ink, followed by the dots detail with orange zest. Lastly, I added the "you" also from Enclosed: Sun, to finish off the front.
The whole thing is layered on the Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag Die and inside the tag, I stamped another of the companion sentiments from Enclosed: Sun.
For this little ditty, I pulled out some watercolor card stock and brushed on a wash of sunny colors with a water brush and some Gansai watercolors. (Can I just interject that I have no idea why on earth I waited so long to buy that water brush....easiest thing ever to use!) Anyhoo....
I layered a die cut Enclosed: Sun frame from white card stock, over the top (once the watercolor was dry) and stamped two of the Enclosed: Sun companion sentiments directly on the watercolored bit. Behind that, are a couple strips of striped vellum and it's all layered on a summer sunrise card base.
One more for you, because we can't forget the flowers! :)
This sentiment is one from the new Perfect Pairing stamp set, stamped in tropical teal ink on aqua mist card stock.
The flowers and leaves from Vintage Linens were stamped with just three colors -- tropical teal, hawaiian shores and new leaf. The whole thing was layered on a tropical teal card base. Goodness, I love these flowers. Can't wait to show you lots more tomorrow! Stay tuned!
