Hi there!
Today is the first group post for this month's Countdown at Papertrey and today, we're focusing on a new group of products designed by Nichole Heady including a cool brush stroke stamp set called Brushed Off as well as the new Branching Out Die and the Leaf Silhouettes Dies which are much larger die versions of the leaf that was part of the previously released Phrase Play #7 die.
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
I had SOOOO much fun making this first card! Firstly, let me just say that I LOVE fall. I LOVE all the bright oranges and reds and yellows that show up on all the leaves in the trees all around us, so I decided to create a card with those bright leaves in mind. Seriously, when I go out in the back yard in the fall, the brighter the leaves, the better! The bright red ones that nearly glow (from our Autumn Blaze Maple) are my favorites.....I swear I smile all autumn long, every time I go outside and pick up a bright red leaf! Aaaaaanyway....back to the card.
I started out with the new Brushed Off stamp set and stamped a dotted background pattern using the small circle image from the set and some kraft ink.
For the leaves, I die cut the solid layers from watercolor card stock and then watercolored them with my Zig markers (links below) and a water brush. Man, this was fun.....just mixing and layering colors. I even snuck in a bit of light gray on the one on the left.
The top layer of the leaves was die cut from kraft card stock and the two were sandwiched together. The "berries" are from my new Fall Florals stamp set, stamped in dark chocolate ink and the sentiment is from my previously released Perfect Pairing stamp set.
This next card doesn't involve fall colors, per se, but it just goes to show that these new dies and stamps can be used any time of the year! I die cut the new Branching Out die from watercolor card stock and again used my Zig markers and a water brush to add color. I purposely left the tips of the branches white, for a more watercolored look.
Both sentiments are from my A Cheerful Heart stamp set.
Behind the branch, I used one of the rectangle brush strokes from Brushed Off, stamping it three times in hawaiian shores, new leaf and versamark inks. I colored clear rhinestones with a Zig marker so they would match the yellow of the branch.
Once I got going with these products, I'm telling you, I kind of got on a roll! Here, I started with an aqua mist card base and used the largest rectangle brush stroke image from Brushed Off, stamping it with hawaiian shores ink three times, so that it spills down from the top of the card.
This time, I die cut the largest Fall Florals branch from watercolor card stock and yep, you guessed it....more Zig markers and a water brush. So fun! Once the branches were dry, I die cut all the circle flowers and stamped them with images from Fall Florals, with dark chocolate ink. I topped each one with a brown adhesive pearl.
For the sentiment, I used one of the new ones from my Tucked In: New Home.
Here's another Fall Florals card for you.....this time, I started out with a watercolored background. (Remember awhile back, where I showed on Instagram, some backgrounds and Vintage Linens flowers I watercolored with a friend at Starbucks? This is one of those backgrounds!)
I cut the background apart and stamped sentiments from Scripted on the watercolor card stock and on the kraft card base. As for the leaves, I die cut the largest branch from Fall Florals as well as one of the Branching Out dies from kraft card stock. I stamped the coordinating branch image from Fall Florals with kraft ink, and then broke apart the large Branching Out die cut, and tucked little sprigs here and there behind the Fall Florals die cuts.
The flowers were stamped with a variety of the pom pom flowers from Fall Florals, with summer sunrise and berry sorbet inks, and I added a strip of scalloped berry sorbet card stock at the very bottom.
One more before I go.....Here's an Enclosed: Leaf gift tag. I started out with a berry sorbet die cut leaf and sponged on some yellow ink on the right side and some red ink on the left. I love that subtle variation in color!
I stamped the veins from Enclosed: Leaf and then topped it with the kraft die cut 'Grateful' frame. Lastly, I stamped one of the companion sentiments from Enclosed: Leaf and popped it on top with a bit of foam adhesive.
The leaf was adhered to an Enclosed: Basic Folded Tag die cut and on the inside, I stamped the "Grateful" from Enclosed: Leaf. A little washi adheres the tag to the white coffee bag and voila! Cute little gift packaging!
All right, I've got to run, but I hope you've enjoyed today's projects! Be sure to visit the rest of my teammates to see their Autumn Style as well!
