Hey there!
Welcome back for another fun Papertrey Group Post! Today, we're showcasing a darling new wreath stamp set by Heather Nichols called Twig Wreath, as well as a sentiment set with concepts by Melissa Phillips and designed by Nichole Heady.
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
Nichole asked us to find a couple of inspiration photos as jumping off points for our cards and here is my first one....
I love that gorgeous wreath!
So I really wanted to mimic the colors in that beautiful, large flower from the inspiration photo. I discovered a really pretty ink/card stock combo, by stamping raspberry fizz ink on autumn rose card stock. The result is a really pretty magenta/purple color that I LOVE with this brown and the greens!! I kinda wanted to keep creating cards in this same color combo! Stay tuned. I have one more for you later in the post!
I used the Twig Wreath stamps and dies to cut out all the little flowers and leaves, as well as the kraft wreath.
I also loved the detailing on the door from the inspiration photo, so I ran a piece of Heather's new Twig Wreath patterned paper through the vagabond with the Cover Plate: Stripes Vertical die, and embossed the lines rather than cut them. I wasn't sure if the patterned paper would still be cut with the die, but it worked perfectly! Gorgeous, deeply embossed lines. I just layered the paper on a kraft card base.
And here's my second inspiration photo. For this one, I loved the colors and used those to create this next card....
I used Melissa & Nichole's new Choose Joy stamp set for all the stamping here! I love the little leaf/flower cluster included in Choose Joy, so I stamped it repeatedly around the sentiment.
On the right side of the white card stock, I added a little strip of bitty dot vellum.
I've got a few more cards today, starting with a couple Fall Florals cards! Here, I grabbed another of the watercolored backgrounds I created a couple weeks ago, and die cut it with the Center Style: Feminine die. I stamped a sentiment from We Go Together on it, with dark chocolate ink.
The watercolored panel is layered on some of the Twig Wreath patterned paper and I topped it with some Fall Florals die cuts.
Here's another in that fun color combo from the top of the post, but this time the emphasis is on the autumn rose rather than the brown patterned paper. The sentiment is one from the new Tucked In: New Home and I added some Fall Florals die cuts around it. Those flowers were stamped with raspberry fizz ink topped with the little dotted flowers in winter wisteria. I added a few leaves (also stamped in raspberry fizz) on the actual card base, behind the die cut ones.
I added a strip of autumn rose card stock that I cut with the Pinking Sheers border die and below that is a bit more of that same Twig Wreath patterned paper.
One more for you today....I decided to go pretty masculine with this one. I die cut a white leaf with the Enclosed: Leaf die and then embossed it with the woodgrain impression plate. Then, I did a bit of ink blending on top using dark chocolate, ripe avocado and Tim Holtz mowed grass. Next, I topped it with the veins die cut as well as the dark chocolate frame. I simply cut the word "grateful" from the frame so I could make it a birthday card instead. For the green leaf, I die cut it from new leaf card stock and sponged on some ripe avocado ink on one side and then stamped the Enclosed: Leaf veins.
For the sentiment, I used the one from Fall Florals, as well as the two dies that coordinate with hit. The back layer was stamped in ripe avocado ink and the front layer in dark chocolate.
Ok, that's it for me today, but don't forget to visit my friends on the Design Team to check out their projects!
