Hello there! It's time for the Papertrey August Countdown and this month, I've got three new stamp sets coming your way! First up is a new floral stamp set with a slightly modern twist, called Fall Florals. The set features several different leaf/stem cluster options, all with openings to fit three different sizes of pom pom inspired flowers. There is also one super stylish birthday sentiment included! I think you'll love all the different things you can do with this set.....I'm excited to show you! Let's get right to the projects!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on August 15 at 10pm EST.
For this first card, I stamped the largest leaf cluster from Fall Florals twice on the white card stock. I inked the stamp with new leaf ink first and then sponged on to the stamp, some Tim Holtz ink, to give the tips of the leaves, some color variation.
The sentiment is from Fall Florals, and I designed two dies to go with the sentiment, which will allow you to stamp it in layers if you'd like. You can use one or both dies, or none at all, if you'd prefer. The choice is yours!
For this next card, I used one of the Fall Florals dies to cut out the largest leaf cluster. But before I die cut it, I did some ink blending with a couple of Tim Holtz colors on white card stock. After it was all blended, I die cut the leaves and then stamped the leaf image over the top of the blended ink, with versamark. I heat embossed the leaf image with clear embossing powder. This way, I got the ink blended colors, as well as the shine and vein detail from the stamped image! You can see the embossing better in the photo below...
I used another of the flower styles to stamp the "flowers" on the circle die cuts included in the die set. (These circle dies fit all three styles of flowers included in the set.)
The sentiment is one from my new Tucked In: New Home stamp set and just below that, I used the Moments Inked: Edged die to cut a layer of dark chocolate card stock.
Fall Florals also includes a group of solid flowers inspired by actual yarn pom poms, which can be used alone, but you can also use them to layer behind the lined or dotted flowers as well. I did that here, layering the solid flower behind the lined version each time.
For the leaves, I die cut them from simply chartreuse card stock and then sponged on some ripe avocado ink, just to the tips, before stamping the leaf image over the top of the sponging with simply chartreuse ink.
The sentiment is one from last month's Perfect Pairing.
Inside the card, I stamped the other of the sentiments from Tucked In: New Home, as well as the pom pom flowers from Fall Florals.
Of course before I go, I have to show you a peek at the new Enclosed: Leaf set too!! Goodness, I've been having so much fun with these leaves! There is so much you can do with them! I played around with some various techniques to create these lovelies.
For the leaf on the left, I used my Zig watercolor markers and a water brush to color a big swatch of watercolor card stock. Once it was dry, I die cut the leaf and just look at that color variation!! I love how it looks so realistic!
For the leaf on right, I started out with some stamper's select white card stock and did some ink blending with a few Tim Holtz inks and an ink blending tool. I love that in both cases -- with watercolor markers and with the ink blending -- I was able to add several different colors to really create some major interest on the leaves!
After I die cut the leaf on the right, I stamped it with the vein images from Enclosed: Leaf with versamark ink, and then heat embossed the veins with clear embossing powder.
I couldn't resist pulling out this sentiment from my Signature Greetings stamp set, to finish things off.
That's it for me, but you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols & Maile Belles for lots more sneak peeks. Betsy Veldman and Lizzie Jones will have peeks at their new sets as well.
I hope you've enjoyed today's peeks!!
Have a goodie!
