Hello, friends! It's time for the last official challenge of the day!! It's the Make It Work Challenge! We're challenged with taking a card that was destined for the trash pile....one we made and didn't like how it turned out, and were supposed to take it apart and remake it into something we DO like!
Remember that all of the details for how to play along with each of the challenges today can be found at Nichole Heady's blog. You won't want to miss out on the chance to win FREE Papertrey gift card prizes!!
First, let me show you the card I made that I didn't like......
I didn't like the red ink stamped on the red patterned paper....it got sort of lost, I didn't like how the focal point sort of blended into the white flowers because it was also framed in white and I didn't like how the fonts were pairing with the flowers. When I pulled the "Teacher" tag off the card, it tore the patterned paper -- and ultimately I wanted to get rid of the stamped portion in the corner anyway -- so it was time to Make It Work! I trimmed off the stamped corner and added some flowers over the torn portion of the patterned paper!!
The flowers were all hand trimmed from a piece of Vintage Linens patterned paper. At the bottom of the red panel, I added a thin strip of white card stock as well as some berry sorbet that was die cut with the medium scalloped border die.
On the flowers, I added a variety of sizes and colors of rhinestones.
And at the bottom of the new white card base, I stamped a sentiment from Ruby Rose, before adding the entire focal panel to the card front with foam adhesive. I like this new card much better!
Now it's your turn! Take a card you don't love and rework it into something you do! But before you get started, check out the other designers' blogs for more Make It Work inspiration!!
