Hey there! I'm back again for the next challenge -- this one is all about card patterns! Each of the design team members has a different card pattern you can follow, to create cards of your own. Remember that all of the details for how to play along with each of the challenges today can be found at Nichole Heady's blog. You won't want to miss out on the chance to win FREE Papertrey gift card prizes!!
I used my card pattern above, to create a couple more cards for you, using a variety of techniques. Firstly, here is the card I created for last month's release. The card pattern was based off of this card....
And here are a pair of new cards I created using the same pattern....
As you can see, I did some watercoloring on one and ink blending on the other....heat embossing on one, gradient stamping on the other.....and I used a couple of different Edgers dies, to die cut the different scalloped borders. Let me tell you a bit about each card....
For this first card, I started by doing a bit of ink blending with some Tim Holtz ink, on the upper corner of some white card stock. Next, I stamped some leaves from the Meadow Greens stamp set, in new leaf ink.
The flowers were stamped and die cut with Mums the Word stamps and dies and after I inked each flower with one color, I used a sponge dobber to dab on a second color, blending the two together to create a gradient look.
The sentiment is also from Mum's the Word and I used the Edgers #3 die, to scallop the bottom.
For this card, I started out with some watercolor card stock and brushed on some color with a Zig clean color real brush marker. Then, I added water with a water brush, to give the marker color a watercolored look.
When that was dry, I stamped some Vintage Linens leaves on the watercolor card stock with versamark ink, and then heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.
The above photo gives you a much better view of the shiny embossing!
I also heat embossed some die cut Vintage Linens flowers with the same gold embossing powder and then watercolored them with a water brush and more Zig markers.
This time, I used a sentiment from Vintage Linens as well as an Edgers #4 die to create the scalloped detail.
I love how you can take one pattern and make a variety of different cards with it!
Each of the design team girls have their own patterns and projects to share with you, so be sure to check each one out! I hope you'll play along!
