SAF 2015: Runway Inspired Challenge

Hi again!  

Time for another challenge -- this one is Runway Inspired!  Remember that all of the details for how to play along with each of the challenges today can be found at Nichole Heady's blog.  You won't want to miss out on the chance to win FREE Papertrey gift card prizes!!

So for this challenge, you're challenged to find a runway look to use as inspiration for a card!  Here's the runway look I chose...!

I love how all of those gorgeous flowers are concentrated in the center and toward the top of the dress.  I love the thin strip of green belt, to break up the flowers a smidge.  I love how the dress is more tan at the top and bottom and just more floral in the middle.  And I love how the flowers just sort of trickle down the dress.  And of course, I love all that gorgeous color!!  So I tried to incorporate all of those elements into my card.

 

I first stamped all of the Vintage Linens flowers and watercolored them with my Zig markers and a water brush.  Then, I stamped the leaves and buds.  Next, I masked over the flowers and did a bit of ink blending with fine linen ink.

I added a thin strip of simply chartreuse card stock to mimic the belt, and that's where I placed my sentiment -- a masked sentiment from Boutique Borders: Birthday.
