Hey there! Back again for day 2 of the Papertrey Countdown! Today, I'll have lots more peeks at my newest products plus, I get to help introduce you to a new sentiment stamp set by Nichole Heady, called Christmas Cheer! It has a kind of retro Christmas look and I love it!
All of the new products you're getting peeks at this week will be available for purchase at Papertrey Ink beginning on September 15 at 10pm EST.
We're starting things off with a bang today, with one of my favorite cards yet, from this release!
I started out by creating my own background paper, using the little holly images from Enclosed: Bell! You stamp the leaves first, and then, in the little space at the bottom of the leaves, you add the berries. Easy peasy! But to make these leaves even more interesting, I inked them first with new leaf ink and then, using an ink blending tool, added Tim Holtz' peacock feathers ink to tips! Good golly, so fun!
For the focal point, I die cut the solid Enclosed: Bell die from hawaiian shores card stock and the clapper from new leaf card stock. I stamped three of the sentiments from Nichole's Christmas Cheer set, directly on the bell with new leaf ink, and topped the bell with a die cut bow from my new Deck the Halls set! Love! They all work so well together!!
Next up, I paired Christmas Cheer sentiments with Deck the Halls again!
I started out by stamping the sentiments along the bottom, with hawaiian shores ink. They're all from Christmas Cheer -- the "let it snow, let it snow" is all one stamp, and then the 'sending', 'warm' and 'greetings' are three separate stamps.
The large "Let it snow", also from Christmas Cheer, was stamped with versamark ink and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
For the wreath, I die cut it from aqua mist card stock and then heat embossed the branches with white embossing powder, before stamping the berries in hawaiian shores ink.
One of the Deck the Halls bows was added to the top, and as you can see, there is a little strip stamped behind the wreath, to make it look like the wreath is 'hanging' from the top of the card. That strip is quite a bit longer than what you see here, so you can trim it off as needed, to allow your wreath to hang as high or low as you need it to!
For this card, I started out with a white card stock panel, and used Erin Lincoln's new String Frames dies to cut the holes in the panel. (See Nichole's blog for all the details!) Then, I used some embroidery floss in two colors similar to new leaf and tropical teal, to stitch up the holes. This type of frame is SUPER easy to do, and adds such an interesting touch! And you can totally just tape the floss ends on the back....you don't even have to tie anything! Couldn't be easier than that!
I used one of the Christmas Cheer dies to cut out the pure poppy "Christmas" and then stamped two of the companion sentiments from the stamp set, in dark chocolate ink. I finished things off with a pine branch from Peaceful Pinecones.
Ok, one more Christmas Cheer card for you.......for this one, I paired another of the Christmas Cheer dies, with the new Snowflake Medallion dies from Betsy Veldman! (See Nichole's blog for all the details about this, too!)
I die cut the Christmas Cheer "Let it Snow" from hawaiian shores card stock.
I used the Snowflake Medallion dies to create the medallion snowflake and then used the small companion die from the set, to add additional snowflakes. Each of them, was dusted with glitter around the edges, for some sparkle! Obviously, this card wouldn't be a good candidate for going in the mail, but it'd be perfect for hand-delivery along with a gift. You could even hang a card like this, from the handle of a gift bag, to serve as an oversized gift tag.
Ok moving on, here is a card featuring Deck the Halls and O Holy Night!
For the Deck the Halls wreath, I die cut it from aqua mist card stock and stamped the wreath with new leaf ink and the berries with hawaiian shores. I used a Sakura stardust gel pen, to add some sparkly dots to the berries. The large Deck the Halls bow was added over the top of the wreath, and behind the wreath, I stamped the solid 'ribbon' image, to make it look like the wreath is 'hanging' from the top of the card. I love that you can stamp that alone, or use the die that goes with it, as you saw on the Let it Snow card above.
And of course, here is another of the sentiments from O Holy Night!
And one more for you....this one is quite a departure from all the Christmas cards, for those of you that need a dose of flowers! *wink!* I hadn't pulled out Rosie Posie in quite awhile, so this was fun!
For those of you that hang out in the forum, you may have seen that we've been talking about color inspiration since Stamp-a-Faire last month, and Gina (ginaegg) told us about a gorgeous color combo that her little girl, Annie, came up with! I couldn't wait to give it a try myself, so this is my take! (Hi, Annie! Thanks for the inspiration! I love it!)
The colors are pure poppy, harvest gold, ripe avocado and tropical teal. You might be scratching your head a bit, looking at my card, so let me explain! :) I wanted to soften the tropical teal, ripe avocado and pure poppy to help them blend a little better with the harvest gold, so I stamped each of them off on scratch paper first, before stamping them on my die cuts! It cut their boldness quite a bit, and made them work even better with the harvest gold color!
Here's a closer look at the Tucked In: Get Well sentiment....it's stamped in ripe avocado ink.
Here's a closer look at those flowers, and of course, there's a strip of harvest gold bitty dot paper behind the flowers, just for an additional pop of yellow!
Ok, friends, I'm off for now but you'll want to be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols, & Danielle Flanders for lots more sneak peeks. Betsy Veldman, Erin Lincoln, Maile Belles & Lizzie Jones will have peeks at their new sets as well.
Thanks for spending a bit of your day with me!
See you tomorrow!
