Hey there!
So, like I told you yesterday, I'm still on a bit of a tag kick over here -- I can't help it, I love making Christmas tags! A lot of times during the Countdown, I'll either run out of time and not get an idea created that I wanted to, or sometimes (a LOT of times!) one of the other designers makes something that's super inspiring that I want to try, etc. All of that is to say, I still have a few tag ideas for you, including a big post for tomorrow so I hope you'll stop back by!
When you have 11 littles (nieces and nephews) to shop for, you end up wrapping a LOT of Christmas presents! Haha! So, there's no such thing as too many tags at our house. But even if you don't have a ton of gifts to wrap yourself, cute little tag sets like these make really thoughtful (and inexpensive!) gifts themselves! Give them as a hostess thank you gift, give them to co-workers, give some to your bestie (she will thank you!) or even give some to your neighbor! The bottom line is that nearly everyone wraps gifts eventually, and a stash of cute gift tags would surely be appreciated! And since you love to paper craft and you surely have a stash of assorted papers on hand that you're likely to never use completely (who are we kidding?! haha!), why not whip up some tags for yourself and a few for someone else while you're at it! Heck, you don't even have to have a "reason" to give someone some handmade tags! Give them because you'll have fun making them and you'll feel great giving them...just because!
For today, I thought I'd show you some tags I whipped up using the Tag Sale #4 die paired with the new Snowflake Medallion Die and the Holiday Double Cuts dies from last year.
I created tags in autumn rose, new leaf, tropical teal and pure poppy. I will also say, this is a great way to use some of those patterns in your pattern packs, that maybe you don't use all the time! I used the dot and damask patterns here, but I'm sure they'd all be super cute!
I will also give you a little piece of advice when making these -- USE HOT GLUE. LOL! I have been making various medallions for years now and have never made them with such relative ease as these, with hot glue! I'm not a huge fan of busting out my hot glue gun, but let me tell you, it just makes the process soooo much faster and easier! The hot glue just seeps into those medallion creases and everything stays put really well. In the past, I've had other adhesives not hold well over time, and my medallions start to come undone.
Another tip with these medallions -- they are much easier to make with patterned paper than with card stock. I made one with card stock during this past release and it was not nearly as easy as these patterned paper ones.
The Holiday Double Cuts dies have been a favorite of mine since they came out, so it was fun to pull them out again and give them some love!
I hope you've enjoyed this little tag set. Stay tuned tomorrow -- I've got a fun post in store for you!
